2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

On the youtube highlights it looked like he flipped off a section of the crowd after he scored his second goal.

He definitely made a gesture to that section of Lowell fans (whether it was obscene was obscured by the glove) but I thought it was a little more than a fist pump.

Not surprised by tonight's result, especially with the talent discrepancy between the two teams. From the broadcast, it sounded like most of them played as well as they could. Unfortunately, we have been officially eliminated from first or second place as of tonight and only have three league games in as many weeks. Coupled with the fact that PC/UVM play each other during the first week of Feb., what is academic to some may become mathematical sooner than we think.

Its already late-January... if your team is going down the tubes you aren't going to have anything to play for by 2nd week February anyhow.

When the hell did Merrimack get a TV broadcasting crew!?!?!?!?!

edit: we can't have audio streaming but they have a TV crew? *grumble* *grumble* *grumble*

I know the UML audio was not working from the WUML website. I listened to the audio stream on WCAP.

ah... that's useful to know, thanks.

They carried both games this weekend but I don't know if they'll carry every game. They are their own radio station and programming may be subject to change without notice.

That was one of the best 4 goals allowed performances I've seen in a long time. Your D hung the goalie out to dry a ton of times and BC had a lot of grade A chances.

I thought this referred to the goalies and being freshmen, this fit perfectly :p

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

I wasn't at the game, but was able to listen to parts of it. First, thanks to the BC fans for the nice words about Boulanger. Secondly, listening to the game, those comments were definitely mentioned by Bob.

Best moment of listening ... after the "BS" chant done by the BC fans (right after the review that resulted in "no-goal"), Bob said something to the effect of "There's that great BC education for you." Awesome. :D

UML lost because their talent level is nowhere close to BCs. But their level of play this weekend (only from listening) is much higher than it's been almost all season, and that's actually finally something to give a fan something to look forward to.

Monty, you're starting to get sucked back in. Look at the previous 20 or so games before you look ahead.

Nope, this season is lost, no question. But if the remainder of the season can be used as a building block for things to get better next year, I can live with that.

I agree about the no goal call as the whistle blew before the puck went in. My only question about the play was Wetmore knocked into Milner. I would have liked to have seen a replay of that play.

BC coach Jerry York had some nice words as well. From the Lowell Sun game article.

"That's the best three win team I've seen since I've been in Hockey East," said long-time BC coach Jerry York. "They've had some injuries. But now they are starting to get back to full strength. They gave us all we could handle. I thought they were very good. Their goaltender was outstanding."

I asked myself the same question right after that play. I have a series of 5 or 6 pictures that shows he wasn't knocked into Milner from what I could tell.

No trouble at all! Have to get them hooked on hockey young, right? :)

Ya, watching it live, didn't appear to me that anyone knocked him into Milner. Think he was just going for the puck.
