Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

Yes, it was a better game in most regards compared to what we saw over the weekend with Mankato. Only real concern I had was after what turned out to be the GW goal, the team simply deflated and it was downhill from there. The first ten minutes was some of the best hockey I've seen this team all year, but they really had no offensive ideas or answers for UNH. DiGirolamo had a pretty easy night, 25 shots, but I think thre were no more than 5-7 quality shots. More passing around the rosy, especially on the 5x3.

They have to find ways to score and quick. Maybe now that they are going to be on the road for quite some time will get them a much needed change of scenery. It will be a month and a half before the next home game at the Tsongas six weeks from tomorrow (Friday). In some ways, it may be a good thing.

I agree that the first ten minutes was probably the teams best showing all year. Caught UNH flatfooted in the early going. They were playing the body well also. Then the usual happened, and the tilt of the ice into the Hawks end began. After UNH's third goal it was lights out.

Tidbit in Chaz's game story today...
The freshmen-laden UMass Lowell hockey team is 15 games into the season, and the River Hawks have been behind or tied in 93 percent of the minutes they've played.

UML has led for exactly 64 minutes and 12 seconds out of 910 minutes and 36 seconds of hockey this season. Only once have the River Hawks started a period with a lead, and only once have they held a lead of two goals.

You can keep the head of the river hawk. That thing is freaking ugly.

Everyone needs to sit down for this one... Ryan Blair scored a goal... 2-1 Scumherst.

Niiice! Not that I have much hope of making the playoffs, but Lowell really needs this one to at least stay in the race. They seem to be coming alive a bit now, it's only 14-10 Scumherst in shots.

Keeping tabs on both games here through GameTracker, hopefully the girls can keep up their ridiculous undefeated run.

Riley Wetmore ties is up. This kid is going to have a sore back from carrying this team to the bottom of Hockey East. Tied it up with about 3 seconds left in the 1st

Re: 2010/2011 UML In-Season Thread

Field hockey breaks up a potential 3 on 0, then miss an open net... 11 minutes to go, Lowell up 1-0.
