2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

If that's what you want to think, you don't know the history with these two teams. I missed the first half of the third period so I didn't see it, but I'd put some money on it that it wasn't unprovoked.
I'll say it if you won't...I'll take that bet. Since that was the opinion of those who did see it.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Irwin was given a 2 for interference and the 10...maybe for how she behaved after...don't know...

Probably for running her mouth after the play. She has an unfortunate tendency to be a bit feisty now and then (how's that for being diplomatic?) Sometimes that works in her favor, sometimes--like yesterday--it doesn't.

...and a great performance (calm and solid) from Ney in net.

Aside from penalties killing any mojo the Bulldogs might've been able to muster, I think Ney was clearly the difference. I wouldn't be surprised to see her start next weekend.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Ohio State swept Robert Morris in Pittsburgh over the weekend. Eight different players scored points for the Buckeyes and the penalty kill unit was 7/7 over the weekend. The Buckeyes won both games by identical 4-1 scores Friday and Saturday. Freshman goalie Lisa Steffes stopped 40 of 42 shots. Offensively, the Bucks were led by junior Natalie Spooner with five points (3 goals, 2 assists), and junior Laura McIntosh (2 goals, 2 assists). Sophomore Hokey Langan had a 3-point series with a goal and 2 assists. The Buckeyes return home to take on Saint Cloud State this coming weekend.

There are several great freshman goalies around the D1 circuit. First name coming to mind would be Rigsby, but others like Douville, Steffes, Howe, Pannicia, Billadeau, Drinkwater and Moore are rookie goalies who could get some major playing time.

Brooky...Other than what I saw online...I haven't a clue what you were alluding to...sorry....but I may not be the writer you think I am...(making this comment after reading something you wrote in another thread).

That's alright, my allusion and what preceded it is now neither here nor there. I did figure out your reference while reading the UND website recap.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

End of the 2nd period: Minnesota 3, North Dakota 3. Minnesota has led 3 times and UND has tied it 3 times.

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

BU now 6-2 over Wayne State, 3rd period. Marie Philip-Poulin with her 4th goal of the game. Terriers just scored - Tara Watchorn makes it 7-2.

Thanks for the updates. USCHO Scoreboard and Womens D1 links don't appear to be working for me. Anyone else have the same problem ?

Colgate 5-3 over Uconn
UNH 4-3 over RPI
Union 3-0 over Sacred Heart

Re: 2010-2011 Scores and Highlights

Jordan Slavin scores 32 seconds into the 3rd for UND. 4-3 North Dakota, early 3rd.
Unlike North Dakota earlier in the game, Minnesota can't tie it up after trailing by one. No additional scoring. UND wins, 4-3.

EDIT: Apparently (according to others) a skirmish began at the final horn. Will have to wait to see what additional penalties result from the extra-curriculars.
