2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?

Won't be Campbell making the call. Supposedly, NHL VP Mike Murphy is now dealing with any issues involving the Bruins because of the father-son situation with the Campbells.

It looked like he was trying to make a play on the puck and RJ was there. I dont even think a penalty was called, plus the league is going to be occupied with San Jose/Dallas from last night, according to Steve Ott.

That's probably a good idea. Although I'm sure they'll be a new wheel of NHL justice that presupposes that Murphy is Milan Lucic's grandfather's uncle's sister's cousin's former roommate!

Sharks are off tonight. They played the last two days.

Given that I had Niemi in nets for me on back to back nights (including Mondays debacle), you would have thought I would have known that.

In other news, Pacioretty told the Habs players he is now symptom free from his "severe concussion".

Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?

Heatley gets two games for his mostly missed elbow on Ott.

I'm fine with that, considering I was hoping McClellen would beat him stupid for deciding that 4 minutes to play with a 4-3 lead is a good time for an elbow to Ott's head. If he had actually made real contact, they might have given him a major, which would have given Dallas a 5x3 to end the game when Couture shot the puck out of play with 2 minutes left.

Ott whining about the bright lights when giving locker rooms interview was stupid, though. If you had concussion symptoms that fast, your docs should be fired for letting you out on the ensuing power play you sniveling fake artist.

Just when I think the whole world is going to ****, along comes something to change my mind. This time its the kids from PS 22 singing at MSG:

They were awesome.

This Canuck had a lump in his throat watching that. :)

Reminded me of this - especially considering what's going on today.

Proving once again, the Detroit Red Wings often do a lot of their best work on their knees...

The Boston Bruins are going down the tubes.

It's now so obvious that the Penguins get all the calls that the NBC broadcasters are just plain saying it.

Edit to add: Ok, not ALL the calls. Matt Cooke (who else?) with 5 + game for an obvious elbow to the face of Ryan McDonagh.

Pens fan here. Cooke needs to sit for a few games for that one.

Nice 8-1 win for a Habs team playing their third straight game with at least 8 regulars out (the last two it was nine, but Gill is back today).

PK Subban with a hat trick, and Ryan White with the Gordie Howe hat trick in the first period.

Re: 2010-2011 NHL Season Part II - Concussions Are Serious Business, Savvy?

When is Lemieux going to put his money where his mouth is and sit down Cooke for the rest of the season or cut him? He's going to kill somebody. He seemingly has already affected lives permanently. I can't believe no one is dealing with Matt Cooke. Enough is enough.

I like to believe in the good in people, but I hope he goes straight to hell. And I don't even like the Rangers (or Boston, or Tampa Bay, etc.). What a foul human being.
