2010-11 Schedules

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

With the addition of Robert Morris and Niagara, AHA is going to 27 conference games and 7 OOC games. No idea how they are scheduling the conference yet (It will be 3 games against 5 teams, 2 against the other 6, but it is unclear how they are splitting it. If they go east/west, the western teams [AF, Mercyhurst, Niagara, Robert Morris, Canisius, RIT] are generally stronger than the east so that may not be the best method)

Sigh... seriously? I suppose the best way is to do it by division... going to make for some weird travel I have to imagine.

Lots of home and homes, especially if RMU is involved. Schooley loves 'em, and isn't ashamed to admit it. :)

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

That's exactly how they are doing it.

27 games, broken down into geographic "pods". The West Pod is exactly as you have it outlined. 2 games at one barn, 1 game at the other. Not sure how the mix will end up (8 home, 7 away?) Then rotating thru the other pod for a home or away every year.

One set of standings. Playoffs still TBA, as far as I know.

Mr. Tunes, you are hereby nominated to create the RMU 10-11 thread. ;)

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

Any idea on what UNH's schedule is shaping up to look like next year?

Just got the tentative (as of 3/31) schedule yesterday. UNH starts the season with 6 of their first 7 on the road, and finishes the season with 5 of their last 7 on the road. Let's hope for a quick start and/or strong finish.

Highlights are two games at Miami, a home game vs. Michigan, and UNH's first trip Cornell since the early '70's. All this in the month of October. The other good news is that the only game scheduled for the Verizon is Dartmouth. So much for the need to prove to the NCAA that UNH can fill a big arena. After the attendance debacle this year, I don't think that they care anymore.

Other OOC games are Brown (the return of assistant coach Mark White to UNH) and St. Lawrence the first Sunday of the new year (undoubtedly an ESPNU game. Can't wait to see Barry Melrose!)

10/2, Saturday vs. New Brunswick (ex)
10/8, Friday at Miami
10/9, Saturday at Miami
10/16, Saturday vs. Michigan

Re: 2010-11 Schedules

have any of your teams even seen the NCAA tournament in the last 3 years?

Yes in fact, we made it this season...and We've also WON a NATIONAL TITLE in our existence. Keep hanging your "Thanks for playing" banners.
