Probably a good thing the Wild had the time off after coming back from Europe, but this is a long time to wait until their next loss.

How do they insert the ads on the end glass for the TV broadcasts?

edit: I guess I'm wondering if they have to do anything physically to the glass so the camera/computer can pick it up or if it's all done in production.

I don't know all the ins and outs of the digital technology, but I hope that it disappears faster than that ****ed glowing puck.

EDIT: Just found this:

# Vendor is PVI Virtual Media Services, same company that provides “1st and 10” line for FSN college football games and other virtual images on various sports and entertainment programming. (http://pvi.tv)
# The virtual ad technology is also used in national MLB telecasts, some international soccer leagues, tennis and college football. The virtual technology is also used (not necessarily in ads) in coverage of NASCAR and will be extensively used in the Olympics.
# Ads appear only from shots using the main camera at high center ice

On a happier note, the Leafs are 3-0. The Pens might want to move back across the road!

They're playing the Islanders on Friday. If that's not a solid home win for the Pens, I'll be speechless.

I agree, I was looking at going to a couple of games in January and it's about $220 per ticket anywhere near the ice.

Why the fark are Rangers tickets so stupid expensive? Jumping Jiminy that's ridiculous.

Gotta love NYC inflation

I sat third row from the glass in one of the corners last year in Phoenix for the Coyotes/Blackhawks game for $50 each.

To sit that close at MSG it runs you almost $300 a ticket. That's retarded. $60 to sit in the nosebleeds is equally awful.

The sad part is that in those $300 dollar seats, if you end up clapping or cheering during the game, you get dirty looks/yelled at for interrupting everyone else's game experience/phone calls.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

I was looking at Bruins/Rangers tickets for Mar. 26th in Boston and its $50-$60 for nose bleeds as well.

At least in Boston, though, StubHub tickets aren't that badly priced. At MSG, everyone thinks their tickets are worth 15-30% over face value.

At least the Blackhawks can get away with charging that much because they won a Stanley Cup recently. Jesus.

Geez. Even the Red Wings don't charge close to that much and they're on a 15 season sell-out streak.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

But to be honest, coming from here I was pretty astonished at how cheap tickets were when we went to see the Wings at the FF last year. Sure, we sat in the nosebleeds, but the tickets were like $30 including fees, to see a good team in a cool old-school arena. And then the beers there were cheap too, I think we got 32-ounce beers for like $7 or something. I guess it's just all about your standard of comparison.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Detroit did start having attendance "problems" last year, in that they were "only" getting like 19,900 to games instead of the full 22,000. I think I paid about $55 per for seats in the first couple rows of the second deck in 08-09, so they may have cut the prices back a little with the whole 22% unemployment in Detroit itself.
