Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Amusing tidbit heard during the Rangers game the other night: since the recent callup of Mats Zuccarello (who led the Swedish Elite League in scoring last season and had a goal and 2 assists for Norway during last winter's Olympics) from Hartford, visits to the Rangers' website from Norway have surpassed those from most other countries to become the second-most frequent, after (obviously) visits from the United States.

Can we get the Wild into the same division as the Bruins some how? 6-0 in the TD Bank Garden since the Wild started as a franchise. It's not like the Wild are a strong franchise or the Bruins suck that bad.

I was at the game the other night and from the first shift on the ice people kept on asking who he was, by the end of the game everyone wanted to buy his jersey. :D

Heh, yeah, the kid works hard, plus everyone loves it when a tiny hockey player is successful. (Except when it's Brian Gionta or Martin St. Louis.)

How the hell is Tampa 24-12-5 for 53 points and 2nd in the east with a goal differential of -7?

It's been awesome to see the transformation of this team this year. Finally the youngsters and guys who came up through the system are making an impact. I told one of my friends the Rangers wouldn't be a contender until the Callahan's, Dubinskys, Anisimovs, etc started stepping up and become the leaders of the team.

Boyle, Prust, Zucarello, all three guys mentioned above have made tremendous impacts this season and are big reason why we're in a playoff spot right now.

I still think we're a top-six forward away from being a legitimate contender, but we're still right in the mix.

Been a fun season so far, even with all the injuries we've battled through.

Sorry, Minnesota isnt all that "Northeast" of a location. Just be happy you got your franchise back I suppose?

Well they did have one loss where they lost by exactly 7 goals. :) But yes, it is a bit nuts, right? Their goalies completely blow.

They are just like the Caps. Great offense, no defense and goaltending.

It's not what wins cups and they'll be a first or second round exit.

The Bruins have never scored a powerplay goal againt Minnesota.

True, but it ain't all that Northwest either. We could use the came logic as the NFL and just group them as we choose. ;)

I would actually love to see the divisions in the west look like this:
Detroit
Columbus
St. Louis
Chicago
Minnesota

Nashville
Dallas
Phoenix
Los Angeles
Anaheim

San Jose
Colorado
Vancouver
Calgary
Edmonton

But then you'd have a timezone problems in the division with both California teams and Nashville.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Tell Columbus to sit on it and kick them to the East, bring in Toronto to bring back the Chuck Norris Division.

:)

Stay the hell away from us.

Also, Nashville is in the central time zone. They would just have to deal with what the Wild and Stars have already.

I was thinking they were east. In that case, this seems like common sense. Can we blame Bettman for this?
