How about the no call on Girardi's gashed face?

Yet, my friend texted me and said he was talking to some Pittsburgh fans that thought the refs hosed Pittsburgh.

5 power plays to none...Yeah wonder who got hosed:confused:

Girardi's faced was gashed because the puck hit him, not a stick. But yeah, everything else.

I wonder if the Habs realized that they may have backed the wrong horse in Carey Price.

I was under the impression that they just didn't want to free up the cap space to pay him because management favors Price, even if the fans think he sucks and is a d-bag. His numbers aren't awful (yet), though they're trending average.

......

Price: 11-5-1, 2.05, .930%

Halak: 8-3-2, 2.12, .918%

I'm not ready to eat crow two months into the season. Get back to me in March. :p ;)

I have been waiting for Price to surpass Halak to post that. :p

We'll see how it turns out. He's a different goalie this year, and despite the high shots against total tonight, his defense and year 2 of JM's system seem to be helping.

Montreal continues amazing streak of not allowing more than 3 goals in regulation in any game this year.

If I am Marc Savard, I would be screaming for an apology. I love how these analysts are defending Campbell. In the words of the great Mike Gundy, "Makes me wanna puke."

The hockey world is so small that all the players (read: media, management, not actual on-ice players) know each other and have known each other for likely years. The established media is afraid to really hammer this so they don't get blackballed. I think this is why most of the "real" news here has been uncovered by a blog.

It makes me sick, but nothing will come of this. Bettman pulled a full Baghdad Bob routine.

So I'm going to the Bruins again tomorrow. Wasn't planning on it...but found 2 tickets for $32 on eBay. I can't pass up $16 seats, especially when the B's shoot twice on that end!

Wait, so, what happened with Savard?

In the emails that Campbell sent out, he said that Savard was a whiner and the biggest faker around. Campbell's perceived bias may have played a role in Matt Cooke getting off with a light sentence after his hit on Savard.

... and?

I mean, he's right.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Campbell also chided refs for calling penalties on his son who plays in the league. A lot of it might stem from when Campbell coached the Rangers and him and Savard butted heads with each other.

I may not like Savard, but a guy handing out discipline should be unbiased and use his influence to over/under punish someone.

Well crap. You don't deserve to win if you can't beat a loser like Thomas on 1:45 of 5x3.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

I've always felt that you have to score if you have a 5-on-3 for more than 30 seconds. Period. If you don't, you deserve to lose.

Nice to finally put up some goals on the Rags.

Nice rush by Scandella, then Miettinen scores with his shoulder to beat the Ducks 2-1 in OT.
