2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

What kind of odds do you think Vegas would have gave you if you said the Rangers would have three goals tonight and the goal scorers were Boyle and Boogaard? :)

Would have been even better if it stood to be a GWG.

That was his first tally since January 7th, 2006. It was against the Ducks when they still had the Disney jerseys.

Edit: He was 22 games from setting the record for a scoring drought. Daneyko is still king.

Of COURSE as soon as I turn the game on the Caps take their first lead of the game. Of COURSE.

That's a neat idea.

Brian Boyle???!!!!

Seven goals...Unreal. Showing signs of that guy that was near the top of D-I in scoring while he was at BC.

he has done well in the AHL as well. at 244 lbs, I imagine its not difficult for him to make space for himself offensivly in front of the net.

If they are picking teams, how exactly are the fans picking starters then?

Pretty cool idea none the less...

Fans pick the players, captains pick the teams.

The teams are expected to be picked during a live television event at the start of the all-star weekend. Players will earn a trip to the game the same way as the past — with fans voting for the starters and the NHL’s hockey operations staff rounding out the rest of the pool.

Right, but how are they then going to ensure that the starters the fans have picked are all picked by the same captain?

Sounds awesome. The article said the idea is the brainchild of Brendan Shanahan. Is there anything that the guy is not awesome at?

Fans pick 6 forwards, 4 defensemen and 2 goalies as starters, the captains have to fill out their starting lineups with these guys before picking the other players.

Figured it was something like that. Sounds good.

I was just hoping the top vote getters in each league (for the Hart - i.e. the winner and the player from the other league with the highest vote total) would be the captains and they would pick the entire teams. Oh well, not everything could be perfect. I still like it.
