2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

Speaking of that... Guess the attendance for the Hamilton at Manitoba AHL game last night.
http://theahl.com/stats/official-game-report.php?game_id=1007398

591 less people than PHX.

I think if you give them their Jets back, they will come. I'm not dissing the AHL, but I wouldn't get juiced up for the Moose vs. Crunch or Amerks. However, I'd be thrilled to see the Pens come to town.

As for Hamilton, the league screwed Balsille plain and simple. He had the cash, but Fearless Leader thinks his money isn't good enough.

Besides, how come Phoenix and Nashville get multiple chances while Bettman was quick to pull the plug in Winnipeg, Hartford and Quebec? More reasons to think he's the worst commish ever.

Re: 2010-11 NHL Season part I: Blackhawks Down in Atlanta

I wasn't knocking it, just saying that attendance was similar for an AHL game. With an NHL team for the attendance bump, they easily could have outpaced the Thrashers or Columbus markets for last nights attendance. LAKings at Winnipeg? I'm sure they could have easily got 10k.

I really wish the NHL would silently release the drafted schedule as to what the NHL would have looked like with Winnipeg this season. It'd be fun to pour over the differences.

They are treating it like it was sealed by The Warren Commission. :D

Jesus. 6,700 for the 'Yotes game last night?

They should let them pack it up and road show it for the season, it may get better attendance.

That's embarrassing

Attacking a fan equals talking about your ex girlfriend who is a puck bunny.

He was suspended because his team couldn't stand the dope anymore and that the NHL wanted to avoid a public relations problem from that particular game.

Debbies lost, Icelanders lost, Rangers won, pretty good NHL night as far as I'm concerned. :D

So, New Jersey spends $100 million, gets fined, screws their cap and possibly their future, and Kovalchuk is a healthy scratch in a 6-1 loss to Buffalo? HAHAHAHAHA.

See my post earlier in thread about karma.

Antti Niemi enjoyed ****ing the San Jose Sharks so much during last year's playoffs, he's decided to do it all season long this year!

Can't totally blame him for the rest of the Sharks bricking. 3-on-2, then 2-on-1, etc. The laugher was the one Niittymaki gave up.

Somehow the Rangers are playing better without Gaborik and Drury. Anyone care to explain that?

Addition through subtraction. Drury isn't as good as he used to be and there is a reason Wild fans call Gaborik, 'Mary Ann'.

Sure: Drury sucks, Gaborik is defensively irresponsible.
And Gaborik sucks in shootouts
While this is true (Gaborik is 2 for 18 lifetime in shootouts), given that the Rangers haven't had a game go to a shootout yet this year it would seem to be pretty irrelevant.

I dunno, I think Drury is about as good as he used to be, he was just never as good as some people though.

I'm starting to see some chatter that Taylor Hall may be assigned to his junior team by the end of the week, before he hits the magic 10 game limit.
