I think it was four goals allowed in four games vs. OSU, a team with some offensively talented forwards. Well done Gophers!

The Gophers have done well over the first two weekends of this crucial stretch, taking 11 out of 12 conference points, or 7 out of a possible 8 nationally. Now comes a series that will go a long way to determining our fate. If we can get a split or better in Madison, then we are in good shape in a battle for second in the conference and retain a realistic shot at home ice for a NCAA quarter. Less than that, and we're back in the soup, battling to ensure home ice for a WCHA quarter. We're unbeaten in our last 9 games (8-0-1), but UW hasn't lost in 12 (11-0-1). We'll find out where we are at.

My thought too was that a split on the road against Wisconsin would be a good result, even though I've never been a fan of this way of thinking going into any series! Subconsciously it may send the message, at least to some, that "if we should lose the first game we can still come back and get the split." And if going in the mindset is that a split would be a good result there might be a tendency to relax somewhat if you do happen to play well enough to win the first game. No doubt the coach would much rather have his players focus on playing up to their capabilities and executing the game plan. The team has made fairly consistent progress ever since the first month of the season, and whatever the results you hope they can still say that when the second game is over.

Looks like game is on BTN website Friday night...then live on the BTN Saturday night? That's what the schedule seems to indicate...wanted to verify as I won't be making the trek to Madison this season.

Congrats to Sarah on her fantastic weekend in Columbus and due recognition!

I am new to this Brooky--can you tell me what this means.I have watched games on the internet BTN site but not been able to watch on regular TV even tho' I supposedly have the BTN as part of my package from Dishnetwork. I am in Florida and when the games are broadcast,I only get told to keep checking to see what games are on.I don't mind subscribing on the internet but it would be a better pic on digital TV.

I don't know about Dishnetwork in Florida but I just checked my Comcast program guide here in Minnesota and sure enough the game will be broadcast live on BTN Saturday night (thanks for the tip, Brooky!). I set the DVR to record it as I'll be out of town and I'll have to watch it when I get home Sunday evening.

It might depend on where you are in FL, but the guide for Tampa from Dishnetwork shows the game on at 8 EST on BIG10HD, channel #439. Good luck!

I can't imagine why you would have any issue with viewing games scheduled to be shown live...but don't know if their would possibly be a difference in programming for The Big Ten Network thru Comcast...the provider in my area, and Dishnetwork at your location. I wouldn't think so. I assume your Dishnetwork provider furnishes an on screen programming guide / schedule? I'd call the service provider and verify you should be getting The BTN if I was having trouble as you describe.

The BTN is on ch.439 on Dishnetwork in my area of Florida so I'll check to se if I can get Sat.game,I hope so.

Thanks for the info on theTV for tomorrow---sadly the BTN only telecasts to the Big Ten states not here in Florida.Great feed for tonites game and a very good result--how about the Freshmen Trio for the Kaz-they all really played well tonite!!!

Noora was absolutely amazing tonight. I thought #9 and #10 played well. Overall I didn't think the team played as well as they have been during the streak coming into this tussle. Obviously UW can make it appear that way if not necessarily true...but passing didn't look as sharp as it has been the last 3-4 weekends, at least.

I would have bet money Noora wouldn't surrender 3 in the shootout as well...but they were all very nice goals from three talented goal scorers.

Agree about the passing esp. coming out of our zone and noora and the pipes held the fort.

Anyone recording game? I can not watch it from Finland. If someone is having yesterday's game and today's recorded then I would be more than happy
to get DVD copies. 7pm awful time for us. 3am here. BTN has HD quality and would be great to have such games available for later viewing.

If you suscribe to BigTenNetwork.com, the webstream games are archived (for the remainder of the season) and you can watch anytime, as often as you like. Also, when games are broadcast live on the BTN, in the past they'll replay it a couple times on a tape delay basis...usually. I was able to watch the last game broadcast live on the BTN (Mavericks) a second time in the wee hours (3:00AM) here in Minnesota. It was rebroadcast a 3rd time as well...of course, I don't know if you have access to the BTN at all in Finland.

I don't have a way to burn you a copy, so my recording won't do you much good. The one person that I know who used to burn DVDs bought his equipment in the pre-HD days, so I don't know if it works at all now. I suppose at a minimum he could record the non-HD version of the BigTenNetwork and make a regular DVD. I'll ask him to contact you if he can help.

The Gophs are going to have to start showing up earlier. Three out of four games we've been in a hole right away, and tonight's first period was dismal. Can't afford to spot a team that is that good a 20-minute head start.

Back to work next weekend against the Huskies. Still hold second, now we have to keep it.
