I had to check the newspaper to be sure. Lucky for me there WAS plenty of coverage in today's edition. I see that they are playing in that prestigious 5 v. 8 match up in the first round of WCHA playoffs. Oh, well, at least Wisconsin is in the 6 v. 7 (and as the 7) so there is at least something to feel good about.

But sorry, the 5 v. 8 match up strikes me as endlessly mediocre. Woog was fired for not winning enough games at a time when his record had begun to slip but had not dipped to the level now being experienced under the current coach.

In more pressing matters, did you see the news about Goldy? Punching Goldy is just NOT RIGHT!

Read today the guy's banned from Gopher sporting events for a year. Probably no chance for a rematch for Goldy.

The guy was some old duffer -- older than us, even. Goldy could have whooped him easy, but ol' 00 just has too much class. At a gymnastics meet no less.

Today's performance reminded me a little of the loss to Harvard in 2003 (although that one was scoreless far longer.) In that case, 2004 was a far better year. I see improvement in 2012's results as well.

While watching bouncyball, saw an add for NCAA.com where they show Bobbi Ross' second goal vs UNH in '06 (which looked strikingly similar to her third goal.):)

Yes. Third goal was the penalty shot goal. In the one used in the ad, you can see a UNH player's stick in the shot behind the goalie.
