2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

RT @LaVelleNeal: From AP: Mauer receives a $100,000 bonus for winning the award, and Cabrera gets $200,000 for finishing fourth.
Nice to see the Tigers have high standards. ;)

Why in the world did a Seattle writer vote for a Detroit player?

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

Who the hell voted for Miguel Cabrera?
While I agree that he shouldn't win, this isn't the most ridiculous vote I've ever heard of. After seeing the Tiger batting order many times, it often looked like Miguel Cabrera and a bunch of guys who can't hit a baseball. The numbers that he put up he did without a lot of help or protection. But after his off the field antics the final weekend, I think you have to give him some sort of debit in "value".

Because now everyone is talking about him. Two days ago, have you ever heard of Keizo Konishi? How many times have you heard/read his name in the past 24 hours? My point exactly.
Three or four times maybe? I can't even remember the guy's name without looking it up or someone telling me.

Cabrera killed the Mariners this year. Mauer hit a pedestrian 0.333 with two homers, but only played six times vs. the Ms.

Well if Keizo Konishi gives Cabrera a 2nd place vote and mauer is unanimous, Cabrera doesn't finish 4th in voting...maybe keizo gets a kickback on that bonus ;)

Since when is a .333 average and 1 homer every three games pedestrian? :p

No chance. Brooke Hundley's boyfriend told me in April 2008 that the Detroit Tigers had assembled the greatest offense in the history of baseball.

I stand corrected.

Brooke Hundley's boyfriend also probably referred to her as a "hot piece of ***" when he bragged to his drinking buddies.

I think the credibility thing is what RC was going for...:D
Yeah, I realized that before I posted, I just wanted to drive home the fact that she's a fat cow that no one in their right mind would want to jump in the sack with.

In other news, the Twins announced that they are going to put up statues in downtown Minneapolis depicting Twins greats. Luckily for them, they won't have to buy a statue for Mauer, since there already is one at the Basilica.
