2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

Seriously, I don't care what the situation is: JUST WALK ****ING A-ROD THE NEXT TIME HE IS UP. JFC

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

And now they're down 2-1... gotta love our pitchers giving up the longball constantly.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

NY players keep having quality plate appearances whether they make an out or not. We have too many like Cuddyer's last where the batter gets himself out.

I think we have a better chance against the Yankee BP -- guys who throw gas rather than a crafty pitcher. Might still fail, but if we only have 6 outs until we see Rivera, I'd rather they be against someone other than Petite based on the first 6 innings.

Pettite is only at 75 pitches, he may stay in until he gets in trouble or the 9th, whichever comes first.

Two mistakes by Pavano = 2 runs for the Yankees.

Yeah, we can't put together the at-bats. E.g. Jason Kubel leading of the bottome of the 7th. Pavano deserves better than that.

EDIT: Pettite out now.

I'd have left him in, but today's managers figure that because they have a bullpen, they are supposed to use it.

Ya, I'm sort of surprised, but as you said, the bullpen has more of the mentality to shut teams down. This is why we aren't managers.

Young should take more shots to the nards if that's gonne be the outcome.

I didn't say that, and I'd have gone Petite, but ...

Apparently Delmon hits better after a shot to the 'nads.

Was Harris not running hard out of the box? Feel like that play took a long time.

Re: 2009 MN Twins Part 4: I Was Told There Would Be No Math

Ball was hit hard and Harris isn't exactly a burner.

eh, bad phrasing on my part. Meant to type what you said, and then the bullpen mentality added on to that.
