2009 MLB Thread, Part II: Claimed Off The Waiver Wire

Re: 2009 MLB Thread, Part II: Claimed Off The Waiver Wire

TBS has the same crews they had last year. This idiot squawk group doing this one and then the actually half-good team of Orsillo and Buck Martinez.

I found a list here - http://the506.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1254256966

and we know how reliable all information on public message boards is. :) (but this is pretty detailed)

summary -
Rockies-Phillies: Brian Anderson, Joe Simpson, David Aldridge
Twins-Yankees: Caray, Darling, Sager
Cards-Dodgers: Dick Stockton, Bob Brenly, Marc Fein
Red Sox-Angels: Orsillo, Martinez, Tom Verducci

Twins-Yankees: Caray, Darling, Sager

I'm really very sorry for both fan bases. Although it will be fun to see GLM compare the three of them with Kay, Sterling and Waldman...

I like Orsillo, but I'd really like to hear him do a non-Red Sox game. And it seems to me that it will be distracting to have him do the Sox series. Folks will be listening for signs of Red Sox favoritism or "leaning over backwards".

I'm looking forward to Eckersley and Wells. Eckersley did a fine job filling in for Jerry Remy this year and doesn't hold back from being critical of bad play and Wells should at least be different than your average studio analyst.

So I heard someone discussing manager of the year earlier today, mentioning Gardenhire.

I don't see that, I would say Ron Washington in Texas has an inside track for that.

The NL seems cut and dried with Jim Tracy for the Rockies.

I just realized the Twins are really the only likeable team for me in the playoffs (the Tigers would've been, too). Everyone else I'm just rooting for because I dislike their opponent more. The Dodgers-Cardinals series is a really tough one to pick which one I like less.

Look up my quotes from the 2007 Playoffs when Caray was doing the Indians-Yankees series and aurally jerking off Cleveland all series.

Now the 1B umpire makes a brutal call and calls Rollins out on what should have been a run for the Phillies.

5-0 Phillies after 6, but it should be 6-0 and the Phillies still batting.

Every single umpire assigned to a base has made a bad call. HP umpire is doing the best but there hasn't been a play at the plate yet.

Makes sense because they were sucking Dick Pole all year.

How come no one has said the perfect set up Headline?

"The Reds give Dick Pole the Shaft"

Omg The Motetrodome Has A White Rooff!!1!
I thought it was sortof a cream color? Maybe eggshell?

Ron Darling talking >>>>>>>> Chip Caray talking
I'll take both of them over Ron Santo or Hawk Harrelson. ANY DAY OF THE WEEK.

Don't worry. 4 games from now, there will be no likeable teams in the playoffs.

I'm shooting for the Rockies just because.

Whichever way the wind blows. He'll be hanging out in a restroom with Gardenhire if the Twins win a few games.
