2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

What are your thoughts on that? I like it myself but I know you were big on the idea of trying to get a team to (overpay) trade for him.

You weren't asking me, but I think it would've depended on what they could get for him.

I like the idea of signing him, he has been a nice addition to this squad since he got here.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

O'Sullivan is a baby that ducks away from contact. That might just be the Oilers rubbing off on him though.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

Belanger got traded to Washington for a second round pick.

I'm good with this. Nothing against Bella, but it is better to get something than nothing when he goes away via free agency.

EDIT: And a 2nd round pick has proven pretty valuable in the NHL.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

I like this trade a lot. I like Belanger and all but a 2nd round pick for him is very good for the Wild since he would not be back.

Wild up 3-0 after 2 at Calgary...nice to see Kipper continues his crappy play :p

Those 2 goals in the 2nd were pretty sweet

1) A Koivu to Mittens to Bruno, tic-tac-toe-SCORE!
2) Koivu with a rip from the far face-off circle over Kipper's glove hand--off the post and in

Need a big hold in the 3rd; I've seen the Wild blow a 3 goal lead in this building before :o The good news is that most of the team should be pretty fresh :D

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

No blown lead this time. 4-0 Wild victory.

Iginla hasn't scored on Minnesota in almost two years. I probably should have waited until after Sunday to say that.

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

How will the gushy twins (wild announcers) spin this pig?

Anything can happen...

need a couple wins on the road....where the Wild have not been good

The Wild are not out yet...

I wonder how awesome it would be if they just gave it to us straight.

"Well tonights game unofficially means the Wild are done. There is little chance the Wild will win the honor of losing the first round"

Lou Nanne said on the Barreiro show (sans Barreiro) yesterday that they are done, no way for them to get into the playoffs. I agree with Lou.
Just tank it and try to move up a pick or two in the draft.
Agree with this. The Wild should be in the top 10 picks, right?

I have a hard time getting excited about a number one pick given this teams track record with them. I know, I know, that's bitterness on my part but when they're just going to trade it away anyway.........{sigh}

Re: 2009-2010: Official Minnesota Wild Thread

This GM has traded 1, and the only reason you care is because it was a Gopher. Seriously you have to get over this already it was a good trade to make and you and I both know you would have loved it if the player hadn't been one of us.

And teams should never tank...that is an insult to the fans. If the team isn't going to try and win do the fans get their money back?

Well, technically he's traded two but I don't care about the first one. And he's traded away the only number one pick he's had since he's been here. :D

I'm not so sure. O'Sullivan wasn't one "of us" and I was pretty ticked about that one.

We'll see how it goes.

They shouldn't tank but from what I've read of the game last night they pretty have without trying.
