If NBC wants to see what they can expect as far as ratings for US-Canada, they should look at how well NHL Network did broadcasting the WJCs, and that's not on basic cable.

I wouldn't be surprised that the logic is that more hockey fans can find the obscure channel while grandma still hasn't gotten past the old big 3 networks.

It just ****es me off because I don't get MSNBC in HD. and watching hockey in regular definition does kinda suck. It's not like you have to follow a puck in ice dancing or skiing.

Do you think for the Olympics NBC will improve their HD capacity on other networks?

I just realized I don't get it either. I can live without hockey in HD though, yes, its an improvement.

I don't think anyone gets that station in HD. I don't think it exists. Anyone have any other information?

I get it. Time Warner Digital cable, channel 1354.

If you people bring beer and nachos, you can come over and watch. I'm not sure you're all going to fit on my couch, though. :p

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

Sweet, this might the first thing ever shown on MSNBC that makes HD worth while.

If anyone in the Twin Cities wants to watch it, maybe you can come over, as long as we can switch between the game and ice dancing. ;)

Chelios DUI Case to be thrown out for lack of evidence.

http://www.dailyherald.com/story/?id=358139

Police accused Chelios, who was alone in the truck, of improper lane usage and speeding nearly 20 over the posted 35 mph limit. But after watching the 15-minute video in court, Judge Cary Pierce found there was insufficient evidence of impaired driving to merit the stop.
Chelios refused to submit to a Breathalyzer, but Westmont police accused the star hockey player of having bloodshot glassy eyes, a slurred speech, a strong odor of alcohol on his breath and of performing poorly on field-sobriety tests.

That night, he was released after posting $300 cash as bail. His driver's license was due to be suspended Friday for one year, which led to Wednesday's summary suspension hearing.

"There's got to be probable cause," Judge Pierce told the prosecution, "and I think you're just a little short."
And if you have some time to kill, there's video of the arrest too!

Somewhat torn -happy Colin Wilson scored, ****ed it was against the Rangers. Though the Rangers deserved it. They are playing like a beer league team tonight. Honestly the worst defense I have ever seen out of an NHL team. Just brutal.

Yeah, the same thing for me. But if we believed this team was run logically...we'd want the team to do badly so Sather would get fired. But he's not getting fired for this debacle since he hasn't gotten fired for anything else.

Sigh.

Another example of how in-car cameras have taken all the fun out of law enforcement! :D

Down Goes Brown takes big pot shots at Vesa Toskola :D

(F)ans never had to worry about an extended streak of poor performances since you could always be counted on to fake a groin injury as soon as things went bad. You were responsible for more groin-related fakery than Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally. The only legitimate lower-body injury you ever suffered was a chronic distended bladder, caused by your unfortunate habit of taking a small sip of water after every goal against.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

Going to be a lot of complaining about the Caps goal that was waved off tonight on Montreal...and I'll agree; horrible call. Ovechkin panckaed Skillsy into Price and the puck went in. I have no idea how they could have waived that off...

That being said, 4-2 Habs.

I've never seen a 6'7" man get rolled like that. Nice hit AO.

That no-goal and then the Habs fourth goal which they were apparently wildly offsides on.

I'm sure these referees will be dressed down and reprimanded for... OK I couldn't keep that up without laughing.

I missed that (it happened 12 seconds after their 3rd goal), I'll have to go back and watch it again after the game.

You know what's not good? Having only 5 defensemen available against the NHL's best offense. 5-4 Habs now in the 3rd.
