What the hell was Price doing? That should never be a penalty on the skater there, he was trying to get the puck. If Price doesn't want to be hit, he shouldn't be there. And then dropping the gloves and trying to punch the guy? Note when Conklin goes down to that end ready to drop the gloves Price has gotten it all out of his system.

Montreal got a power play on the play because Conklin left his crease. Hamrlik and Janssen got matching roughing calls.

St. Louis roughing - 2 min 7:30, C. Janssen
Montreal roughing - 2 min 7:30, R. Hamrlik
St. Louis goalie leaving crease - 2 min 7:30, T. Conklin served by A. Steen

Where's Price's penalty for throwing a haymaker at Jansen while his teammate is already committed with him?

If they're going to be such sticklers for the rules and penalize Conklin, then Price needs his own penalty for roughing AND a third man in penalty. :D

I don't know how Price doesn't get a roughing penalty also for trying to throw some punches in there, but Conklin is an idiot for crossing center ice and not actually getting in a fight.

Price backed away, and the linesman never let him drop his gloves.

It just made me wonder if goalies get penalties for that when there's an actual goalie fight, like Roy and Vernon.

They generally do but only because goalie fights are usually an insane spectacle. Back in '97, Roy and Vernon probably both should've been tossed from that game but instead they both got leaving the crease penalties since Roy left his to go help Adam Foote and then Vernon left his to go after Roy.

Jose Theodore's deal with Satan has finally run out. You're gonna love the first goal he's given up in Pittsburgh tonight.

I forgot all about that... yeah... SIEVE! SIEVE! SIEVE! SIEVE!

Looked like he was trying to absorb the contact he saw coming (as Price never pulls up), but I could be wrong.

I <3 Ty Conklin. :)
Looks really close. The angle showing it isn't the best either. Part of why it looks that way may be because of how he goes over the top of Price...

I think it's the final replay, you can see him noticing Price charging in, and it looks like he's trying to brace himself. But yeah, not really evident one way or another.

No love lost between NY and Philly tonight, 3 fights in the second, no doubt stemming from Carcilo taking on Gaborik early on. Avery got in the other two fights, once against Hartnell, then coming out and dueling Carcilo not 1.5 minutes after his previous fighting major was scheduled to end. 2-0 Philly end 2, they popped one in with 3 seconds left in the second.

A bunch of friends are going ape about how bad the refs are doing tonight.

Nice goal by "former UNH star James van Riemsdyk" (as mentioned on NESN), though. :)
