That's not a surprise because they play in the same arenas.

Obviously, thats why its a good comparison. If one league had a much/higher lower attendance while playing in the same arenas as the other league then perhaps you could attribute it to the league's popularity.

He only got a cut from his visor, came back and finished the game.

But what about Edwards' "courageous at the sight of stripes" rip on Komisarek after Chara yanked him off the dog pile? No wonder I hate watching NESN. What a tool.

He was right. Not only did Komisarek overreact but there's no way he takes on Chara with no refs in sight.

Has anyone tried NHL Gamecenter Live on NHL.com? How is the quality? And, perhaps most importantly, do they play the local intermission reports?

I've read some pretty vicious complaints from some folks about it (poor connectivity, poor quality) but nothing in such great numbers so that it's a total no-go. It's apparently just like getting Center Ice just online so I believe you do get the local intermission reports.

Maybe. But Edwards seems to think he's one of the Bruins, and does this to several players ALL THE TIME. It's ironic how he rags on guys for being courageous at the sight of stripes when he's 9 stories above ice level in the safety of the broadcast booth. Here's a guy whose neck is scrawnier than a Ticonderoga pencil who doesn't ever have to ever be physically accountable for ANYTHING, and he's giving lectures on courage?

Yeah. That makes sense.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

So apparently, according to the Av's announcers, with the league the way it is, it's actually tougher to score at even strength than on the power play. Go figure, its easier to score when you have an extra player? I never would have guessed!

The New York Rangers are officially on a winning streak?! Holy ****...someone stop the press.

Yeah, but we're talking about Avs announcers here. They have to explain these basic concepts to their newest crop of bandwagon fans and puckbunnies. ;) :D

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Season Thread 2: Its all going up in flames!

Marty Brodeur with shutout #104 breaking Terry Sawchuck's record with a 35 save performance against Pittsburgh.
