Chicagobreakingnews.com reports the former 'hawk and 'wing and current Chicago Wolves d-man Chris Chelios was arrested December 28th for drunk driving.

With Ovi wearing the C tonight for the Caps, who was the last Captain to be traded mid-season before Chris Clark?

Not sure if this is correct, but it may have been Steve Konawalchuk.

Edit: I took this mean to which Capitals' captain was the last to be traded mid-season.

Im assuming Thornton was the last but have the Wild ever traded their captain? Don't they rotate the captaincy there?

Former Chicago Blackhawks star Chris Chelios was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence after being pulled over by Westmont police in the early-morning hours of Monday, Dec. 28, police said.

Christos K. Chelios, 47, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., was stopped by police at 4:12 a.m. while driving a pickup truck east on Ogden Avenue in the area of Blackhawk Drive, officials said. The Chicago Wolves defenseman was charged with speeding, improper lane usage and DUI, Westmont police said.

Chelios, the only occupant of the vehicle, posted 10 percent of the $3,000 DUI bond and was released from the police station.

The pickup truck was towed from the scene, police said. Chelios has a court date of Feb. 1 in Wheaton.

He was most likely on his way to his parents house (where he's staying while with the Wolves) and since everything is still registered to his Detroit house, the cops saw a swerving SUV with tinted windows at 4am with out of state plates... too easy of a possible DUI to ignore.

When Lemaire was the coach. Sean O'Donnell may have been traded while he was captain, but that was a while ago. I can't think of any others that may have been.

True. Cheli must've forgotten that at 47, his tolerance is slipping. :p

All kidding aside, it's still kinda disappointing. I could see that happening 20+ years ago as a twenty-something star in Montreal, but at his age you expect people to know better.

After another embarrassing performance by the Leafs tonight, what's the over/under on Burke firing Wilson before the Olympics? :mad:

At least the latest from Down Goes Brown helps to ease the pain.
