Solid game tonight in Buffalo. Bruins played fairly well...a nice PP goal. I don't really fault Rask for the two shots that went in, both were bombs high stick side.

Buffalo was just better tonight, that's all. It's going to be a very good series, I think Rask showed he can take the pressure, at least initially.

Agreed, Boston had a really solid 2nd period. The score would've been much different if miller hadn't been ridiculous.

I think it's gonna be a tight series. If the sabres can stay healthy and there's continues to be a solid effort from across the bench and they share the workload they could pull it off. A hell of a lot also depends on miller and if he's on his game every night.

Should be interesting and probably will give me a couple ulcers...:D

Anyone listen to Bill Simmons podcast? Listening to him with Buccigross right now, so many head desk moments.

True story, I'm a bit abrasive but I kept in check and sent Buccigross an email about him broadcasting the tourney last year. I gave constructive criticism, he sent me a third grade email back saying "too bad your team lost."

Yeah, I guess I can understand your stupidity John when you don't even realize which team I was rooting for, which team won, and that my very positive spin on your work was not in anyway personal. He just assumed that my comments were because my team lost. Unbelievable.

I understand he gets negative emails, but mine was really not bad at all and his response was unprofessional.

Teams I've been cheering for in the playoffs = 6 for 6 right now...

Lets go Kings!

This "Don't Call ****" officiating (DCS) is going to get old really fast. Daniel Sedin had a stick blade from a King player stuck in his helmet.

No call.

Really?

Sweet. Let's just start tackling guys.

In the B's/Sabres game, it was more a question of consistency. A check from behind would go uncalled on one end, then it would get a whistle on the other.

Also, the whole, "watch the play, think about it, then raise them arm" is a little ridiculous. It's like refs are trying to justify the call in their heads before they make it.

100% true.

Alberts should be suspended for that hit on Richardson under the new rule. Got him from behind and drilled a forehead right into his head into the boards. Added a jump in there too for the charge.

Though bronconick has responded appropriately here, I agree with you. He gets five for boarding/charging, he should get the token one game suspension.

That said, Richardson was back out there before the end of the period, which means Alberts probably won't be suspended.

Exactly. Vanek got away with numerous cross checks in front of the net and then Derek Roy takes his customary dive...the ref does nothing until the crowd reacts and then calls a penalty. Not the reason the Bruins lost and probably wouldn't have mattered since the Bruins can't score, but ya, consistency please.

Come on!! Go to OT tied at 2's! That would guarantee me a win in Streak for the Cash!

As a Bay Area native now living in DC, I've been...unamused by the way the playoffs have opened.

Re: 2009-2010 NHL Playoffs Part 1: How will the Sharks screw it up this time?

If this has been covered before, I apologize....

Tonight's Versus Schedule is...

7:00 Ottawa @ Pittsburgh
9:30 (JIP) Nashville @ Chicago
11:00 (JIP) Detroit @ Phoenix
12:30 (JIP) Colorado @ San Jose

So, if I'm reading this correctly, you'll get to see the whole Ottawa-Pittsburgh game, and barring no overtimes, the Nashville-Chicago game will come on next early in the 2nd period. After that game, Detroit-Phoenix will be shown, also starting early in the 2nd period(barring no overtime). Finally, the Colorado-San Jose will come on early/midway in the 3rd period(again, barring no overtimes).

Basically, my main question is, are the games shown in full on NHL Center Ice. I don't have that at home, but do at work. I just think this is a horrible way for Versus to do business.
