The NC Map will be challenged...all we can do is hope it goes down the way all the rest did. Putting all Dem voters in 3 districts or whatever makes zero sense.

Gerrymandering is friggin criminal.
 
The problem now is the NC Supreme Court is run by Republicans…it was Democratic the last time the gerrymandered NC map was struck down, so this map could very well stand. I think I read this gerrymandered map is safe 10R-safe 3D, with one toss-up district, so a gain of three, maybe four seats for the GOP.

The thing with gerrymandering is you either crack or stack. Stacking is the only way to avoid the pitfalls of cracking but it comes at a cost of a higher minimum for the party you're trying to screw. Without looking at the maps, I don't see how you get to 15-1 or even 16-0 without serious cracking.

god this is a boom for dem strategists. They’ve already said a cottage industry of oppo research is being developed for key districts

Also heard him say, in effect, "This one gun control law was passed a few years ago somewhere, and there are still mass shootings today, so that proves that no gun control law could ever work anywhere, so why even try?"

I just can't describe the hate, disdain, and contempt I have for conservatives in general and Republicans in particular.

JFC people, saying "this is scientifically how various species evolved" is not the same as saying "this is how we think people should act". The former is just a study and observation of what happened up to this point, no one on the left or in the secular world currently proposes it as a blueprint for how things should be going forward. Physics class describes how items falling from a roof should fall, that doesn't mean physics teacher are encouraging you to throw people off roofs.

I don’t either, considering there’s only 14 congressional seats in North Carolina, not 16.

Sadly, even our smartest conservatives on this board have made the same argument. Ones that claim to have voted Biden.
 
He also has been quoted as saying that we live in a "Biblical Republic" whatever the phuck that means. Pretty sure you need only get to Amendment 1 to know that aint right...

I don't want to hear anymore about any sort of "moderates" in the GOP. CNN, MSNBC and all the rest can phuck on off with that crap. This is the final nail in the NeverTrumper wing...they support this guy, who if given the chance will overthrow the election. When someone dared bring up in Congress that they were electing a guy who was the architect of the movement someone yelled "Damn Right!". There is no moderates, there is no sanity and there is no real Americans on that side of the aisle anymore. They are all Trump lemmings, none have the power or the stones to tell him no and now it is incumbent on the Democrats to no longer just single out the "MAGA Wing" just call them what they are "The Grand Ole MAGAs". From now til next November every Republican must be painted with the same brush. Remind the voters every day what will happen if they make even the slightest mistake next year. The GOP has flat out said "if we have our way this will be the end of Democracy as we know it" and the voters are really the only way to stop them.

Agreed on all of this*. Mike Johnson is Jim Jordan without the megaphone, complete with a basic b-tch white man name.
*I hope we trounce. All the ingredients are in place for it, especially if the economy continues to get better, and stay better than the rest of the world on inflation, etc.
 
So what happened to all these Biden District Republicans who were NOT going to vote to elect and election denier Speaker?

Lotta conviction on that side of the aisle.
