Ahh, fine tuned his performance from earlier this week on CNBC eh? It's all the Crazy 8 with Gaetz's fault, plus those big bad democrats who wouldn't swoop in to save his sorry *ss, right? And it was all the Dems fault for wanting a shutdown in the first place, despite it really being the Crazy 8 and other members of his own party.

As usual, the Party of Personal Responsibility refuses to take personal responsibility.
 
I never watch the Sunday political show, but for some reason it was on today. Liz was asked about Bidens comments that mistakes were made post 9/11. And she said no, the region is a threat because of terrorists. In spite of the fact that no WMDs were ever found in Iraq, which was why we invaded- and the result of our blunders made a failed state and new terrorist groups.

This is exactly why I can’t respect people like her that stand up to dumpy. I appreciate it, but they still can only fear monger- which is exactly how we got the fat moron elected president in the first place.

Emmer wins GOP Speaker nod, but lacks votes on floor: Live coverage | The Hill

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said the remaining holdouts meeting with Emmer do not have one particular ideological bent.

“The people that are standing up are all over the place,” he told reporters after exiting a more than three hour conference meeting.

“It’s not just Freedom caucus members….They are all across the board.”

Buck, who last week voted for Emmer when Jordan was the designee, joked that he did so because it was the worst job in the country.

Emmer can lose 4. The whip count right now is 20.
 
There's some discussion that the Democrats might vote present, either fully or enough to get Emmer the Speakership. Kind of the "he's the least worst and we have work to do" move. I'm not sure how I feel about it, to be honest.


That said, short of massive rule changes, I would not be surprised if some of the bomb throwers immediately motion to vacate, because they aren't interested in governing.
 
There is no deal to be had.

Republicans who make deals will be primaried and will lose their jobs. After McCarthy, no "handshake" deal will be accepted by the Democrats (nor should they). And even if the Dems simply vote present, I could see a Paul Gosar-like cretin demanding they oust the new speaker just for that reason alone.

These are absolute morons here. This is what happen when you think you can placate the crazies.
 
If the Dems vote Present then the Freedom Caucus will just motion to vacate, making this whole thing pointless.
 
And Trump tries to sabotage it by calling Emmer a RINO and saying it would be a tragic mistake to make him speaker...with Gaetz now saying it's important to listen to the leader of the party...
