Drew is a good guy with a gun so he is fine...

The "you" was in reference to cops.

Somehow Drew seems to think that cops won't like it if there are fewer guns out there to potentially be used against them.

Cops love it when good guys with guns are shooting and have their guns drawn before they get there. Makes everything safer and easier to deal with.

Scooby just sent that one over the centerfield wall.

This is the sh* I'm sick of. And I want anyone who is capable of owning a gun, to be able to own a gun.

So if as many on the right assert, its a mental health issue (which I think even they don't believe). But they want this covered by the government.

Per Huffpo, the astronomical cost of mental health is estimated at $200B - for comparison, that's 4 times the budget of Homeland Security. Evidently gun supporters want the US government to for this. Between tax bills that have grown the US debt 20% in a growing economy and boondoggle spending like this, the right is not about small government. Additionally, this guy had a full bevy of coverage and killed anyways. Can we finally admit that managed health care solutions are not the answer? It is dealing with guns. Period.

LOL.

So fun to watch gun nuts scream mental health and never support anyone who would pay for it. It costs money folks. Money that no rightie wants to be taxed or have spent.

They’ve been hypocrites for 30+ years, that’s nothing new...

Re: 0 Days Since Last Mass Killing: Maybe It's the Person, Not the Gun...

I've simply maintained that a person like that should not have access to a gun. There is no way he should have passed any background check for a gun.

As for treatment, that's another discussion that is separate from him getting a gun.

Wit6hout treatment, it doesn't do much good, cause if a person like that wants to get a gun, in America, he can get a gun. Only a matter of time before he goes off.

Yes, he could get a gun if he was that determined. Don't have to make it easy for him, though. Isn't a mental health check part of strengthening the gun laws?

San Bernardino, CA.
10 shot in an apartment complex. 3 in critical condition. Suspect at large.

And even if he didn't pass the background check, he'd get it on the black market. How about paying attention to the first four phrases instead of the 5th, and you might see an actual problem.

Yes, the actual problem is the mental health part, but as I said, why make it easier for him to get a gun? I already have said that if he wants a gun, he's going to get it, if he's determined enough. That being said, make it that tough for him to get that gun.

Frankly, I'm even open not allowing ANYONE with mental health issues, even if they are on meds/getting help for said issue, to not be able to own a gun. The variable in that equation is just too risky.

.

It'd be really tough to get a gun if there were no guns.

And yet again, that is an impossible scenario, unless you want a police state. You're just as bad as the gun nuts who want to keep all the guns in play.

Didn't say that's what I want, just making the point. You want to make it as tough as possible to get a gun. There ya go.

Why don't you start with just getting rid of the most lethal? Everyone can have as many pistols, shotguns, and deer hunting rifles they want. Just can't have an AK or AR.

I want every responsible and mentally stable person to be able to buy a gun, if they so wish. I haven't said make it as tough as possible. I have said there are laws that need be tweaked, to make it toughER. There is a big difference.

Methinks rufus doesn't understand what "semi-automatic" means.
