Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

Emily Pohl has committed to UW. Her parents were ok players, it might work out decent for UW. She also has 2 younger sisters.
I wonder how in the world we attracted a true-blooded Gopher to the Badgers?? Especially considering (gasp), it's likely that MJ will be retired by then. I am astonished.

When's the last time Minnesota hosted a national title banner in their rink? And there's no reason to believe that Mark Johnson won't be there in 27.

I think this is going to be the thing that gets people in positions where the U of M athletic brass would listen to them really calling for Frost's head.

Weirdly enough, I think Minnesota's recruiting has been a lot better the last three years, Pohl or no Pohl. It's everything else that's the problem.

Coach and the interviewed players (Potter & Hall) all said that the potential Olympic skaters are away this week, practicing with the USA team. But do any of you know anything more about this? There's nothing on the USA hockey page, there's nothing about what other players are wherever this is taking place. Is it some kind of open secret? If anyone could find a link explaining the current situation, that would be great. All I know is that Coach Johnson expects his players back on Friday afternoon/evening for a game on Saturday morning.

Frosty has no contract after the season ends?
Don't mean to hijack the Red Menace thread here but he went into the 2023-24 season without a deal beyond that but was extended for two years in mid-late October. If nothing's announced by the end of the month, then you can see how seriously the athletic office is taking it.

USA Hockey will have a camp once a month (in future months they will coincide with Rivalry Series games). The current pool, which includes 5 from UW, 2 from OSU, and one each from UMN and PSU, will be missing for those weeks.

I suspect at the Super Rink in Blaine. The women's national program has facilities there.

Well, I really hope that the practice - not a game - went well. And that our players are ready to play a game tomorrow - not practice - against a ranked opponent - and won't show up with any injuries. It's tough dealing with other entities who consider women's college hockey only as an unpaid feeder program.

Joy Dunne and Emma Peschel out for Ohio State (vs Bemidji). Abbey Murphy NOT out for Minnesota (vs St Cloud), I guess because Blaine is close enough for her to get back in time.
