TV 19 - Simpsons Did It

Finally got around to starting Poker Face. Good stuff. The style in which they tell each episode's story is interesting with the middle first but seemingly without Charlie there and then back to the beginning for us to see she was around the whole time.

After finishing Poker Face it reminded me I hadn't watched Russian Doll yet. Also starring Natasha Lyonne. Very good so far (6 episodes in)

I got Xfinity internet a couple years ago for work and PeacockTV was included for free. As of 26 June that will no longer be the case. Anyone who subscribes before 25 August will be able to get the discounted rate of $2.99 for the first 12 months and then everyone gets converted to full price. Unfortunately my mom has been watching "Days of our Lives" for longer than I've been alive and Peacock is the only way she can continue, so I'll have to subscribe.

I won't go out of my way to renew. I think Peacock is massively over-estimating where they rank in terms of streaming services.

If it weren't for "Days" I'd let it expire at least until the new Premier League season starts. The only thing I've watched recently is part of Cocaine Bear, which was so disappointing I didn't even finish it. But NBC does put most of the EPL behind that paywall.

What these streamers forget is that we subscribe because watching them is only slightly more convenient than using our VPN to torrent shows, movies and music but the moment they add hoops to make it more difficult (or prohibitively expensive) back to the Pirate's Bay we go.

Huh? My most recent Xfinity bill did not say that. I don't watch it a lot, but it's a back up for old Law & Order episodes that I'm addicted to. And I really liked Poker Face.

I've actually used Peacock a fair amount. Some movies, some tv shows (both new and re-watching old favorites). They will also likely add college football to their streaming this fall as well (Big Ten games I think and maybe others). That's not a selling point for me but it might be for some.
