I was told Cannon would get the boot for conflict of interest and also her obvious ineptitude.
Yeah. Unless she's absolutely outrageous, she isn't getting removed.

There are a few Russian Orthodox churches in Alaska that predate the purchase. Not very ornate but still interesting. Alaska has it’s own diocese and bishop as well. That is so cool. All I know about Alaskan religion I learned from the Northern Exposure plot arc with Joel's great grandfather.
I was surprised Hawaii wasn't solid Mormon. It's a runaway invasive species down there and in the Pacific islands in general. Only other folks who like spam, I guess.

Today's edition of TFG living in Bizzaro World:
Apparently in the Documents case, his legal team has requested time to build a secure room at Mar-A-Lago to view material that will be turned over via Discovery. You know, the same material that was seen sitting in a bathroom and on an office floor.
THEY NEED TIME TO BUILD A SECURE ROOM TO VIEW MATERIALS THAT THEY CLAIM DIDN'T NEED TO BE SECURED!!!
Like, I'm sorry, but I'm gonna need a bit of time and some mind-altering substances to wrap my head around this one...
Surprised Smith didn't ask for Jan. 6 to begin hearings.
So fat orange fuk won't have to actually leave home to discuss his defense with his lawyers. Funny, now they need a SCIF to be able to read and discuss documents Donnie stored in a bath tub. But they're declassified. Sure Jan.
If it were anyone other than a former POTUS, this would be an open-and-shut case - 20 years in federal maximum security, do NOT pass Go, do NOT collect $200,000. Instead, we get to sit through months of BS stall tactics that practically make Smith's case for him.
It still boggles my mind how willfully obtuse MAGAts are, and how they will cling to Hair Furor and conspiracy theories the way a scared child clings to/hides behind their mother, even in the face of all evidence that he's a bad actor.
The Judge overseeing Trump's classified documents case, Aileen Cannon, was gifted a luxury trip by the Leonard Leo-backed Scalia Law School. This is actually INSANE.
A new report by the Guardian reveals that in 2021 Judge Cannon accepted a luxury trip to a Montana resort from the Scalia Law School, where Leonard Leo (the kingmaker of GOP judges) has brokered *at least* $30 million in donations to rename the law school after the late Justice Antonin Scalia.
Just in 2021, the George Mason University Foundation, which manages the school's private gifts and endowments, took over $5,000,000 from "The Donors Trust", dubbed the "Dark Money ATM of the right."
Leo has been behind the appointments of virtually every federal and Supreme Court Judge by Republicans in the last 20 yrs, and manages a billion dollar dark money slush fund geared towards packing the courts with right wing zealots.
What's becoming crystal clear is that Republican billionaires are secretly buying off every judge they appoint to federal judgeships. This type of corruption is that which we see in third world countries.
How can Judge Cannon be able to still preside over Trump's case, given Republican mega donors are funding lavish vacations for her?
A side note that few people know- but at least related. One of the charges for the Jan 6 parts is blocking a federal procedure.
Did you know that it's against the law to block someone's mail box? Doing that, you are blocking a federal employee from carrying out their jobs. After arguing with some people that kept doing that (they told me that it was not against the law), I just called parking enforcement (they insisted that I stop talking, and just call them). I had the choice of having them towed or a ticket. Fun stuff.
So this charge travels all the way through government.

I mean there is almost certainly a law somewhere that makes it a crime to interfere with or block the US mails. I'm just wondering if it's the same law that makes it a crime to interfere with a federal employee doing his or her job.
Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards the passage of the mail, or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
