Nor really, you're reading too much into that bit of info there. It's the Force's impact on the weapon or visa versa, important pieces of information of the people who've held that saber even when they weren't the wielder of the device.

How would that come happen? Ep. VII takes 32 years after Endor. Rey is in her early 20s. Kenobi died 14 years or so before she was born. Did Kenobi make a sperm deposit with the Force Reproductive Services Bank?

The first things affected by it - those created in 1923 and properly renewed back when you still had to renew it - enter the public domain January 1, 2019, but Steamboat Willie's copyright lasts through 2023 since it was created in 1928 (so it would enter the public domain January 1, 2024).

The fight to extend it will happen in 2018. And it will be heavily funded by Disney.

The problem is that disney's actions affect tons of media that no one can find the copyright holders anymore...that and the hypocrisy of Disney making billions off of movies from stories in public domain.

I know. It's BS. But it's Disney. They are pretty much the Borg when it comes to business dealings.

There was a weed shop here that had a giant mural of an Aladdin scene on the exterior wall. I took one look at that and immediately pictured the vibrating water cup from Jurassic Park as Disney's legal team closed in.

I also liked how he borrowed Chewie's crossbow blaster. Just would have thought he had a chance to try it out before during his what, 40 plus years of being a scoundrel??

I wouldn't put in my Top 2 for sure. It was entertaining, but I've seen it before. You have a female Luke (lemme guess the big reveal in VIII is she's his daughter), a black Han Solo, red and white R2D2 and a pedophile looking Darth Vader. Oh and a small resistance force has to blow up a giant weapon so even the plot was the same.

Again it was good and glad we saw it in IMAX, but I'm disappointed.

Just saw it now and agreed with everything you said. Although I didn't see it in IMAX and I kinda wish I did.

Although I'm really intrigued by the Supreme Leader and what he is about. Hopefully he's more evil than the Emperor. I thought Kylo Ren was a quality bad guy and I was happy that he took off his mask. Was going to be annoyed if he was like Darth Vader who had to be kept alive by a machine.

One thing I realize watching 7 is that being the sequel, it was far easier to have callbacks with things, but that doesn't mean Lucas didn't get drunk on cgi, and forget about the story and what made the original trilogy great.

I loved the mask, and it was obvious that it was just a mask, not half-machine. I wish he never took it off.

I went to see it again tonight. Having put aside the annoyances that I already knew about this time I was able to enjoy it much more. I appreciate the way it was made and that it completely had the spirit and charm of the original 3. Still not top 2 of my favorites, but now a solid 3 for sure.
