Your school's All-Time Team

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

All great players, no doubt. Don't forget about Steve Lemieux. I'll never forget Jay Green and the Dutch Olympic game. I still bump into Jay now and then. So many good ones to consider.

It is tough because I really can only pick players that I have seen played and most of those players are from 76-80. Also most of those kids coming in at that time were 18 or 19 not like today when you have 21 year old freshman. It really is different today. Not better or worse- just different. Of the players I saw in that era- I would add Jay Green- smart player and great with the puck. Mike Brigante- one of the most entertaining players to play at EC. Small but very fast, could not catch him or knock him off his skates- Jay Boudreau- maybe the smoothest skater I every saw. As for d-men, John McLaren was outstanding when he was on the ice; he controlled the game.

Time for the UWSP all time team. Sadly, it is names of the past mainly.

First
F Paul Caufield
F Ralph Barahona
F Shawn Wheeler
D Mic Kempffer
D Tim Coughlin
G Todd Chin

Second
F Frank Cirone
F Forrest Gore
F Pat McPartlin
D Kevin Fricke

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

For Norwich, we should have 2 groupings; the Krietzberg team and the Taylor Arena team. Taylor team should include;
Kennedy,
Grip
Guillemette
Cimmenetti
Eiman
Speros

The Kreitzberg team should include;
Aucoin
McLean
Bellmare
Ludwar
Demasi
Kligensmith

Wow, way too many players to keep off these lists.

Those late '80s early 90's Pointers squads were loaded! I think Todd Chin was like 28 or 29 years old his senior year.

Yo, no "u " in coach Coghlin's name.

With a 100+ year history, it's pretty tough to narrow it down to 12 guys no matter how you slice it.

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

Looks almost perfect to me. The only qualm I'd have is that Lenny Pereira has to be somewhere on the first two teams. I guess I'd swap him in for either Belanger or Moffat, though I couldn't tell you which one. Two pretty dang good squads, in any case.

Plattsburgh had someone named Fan, not sure of his first name, but he was good enough - they retired his jersey  :p

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

The big question is could you pick all Corps of Cadet Teams and all Non- Military Teams seperately?

So here is my quandry.... I can pick who i think are the best all time at their position, or I can pick who I think would make up the best team......
I'll go with best at the position (This time).
Norwich

First Team

F-Keith Aucoin
F-Kurtis McLean
F-Marc Bellemare
D-Frank Simonetti
D-Mike Ludwar
G-Ryan Klingensmith

Second Team
F- Kurt Healey
F- Aaron Phelen
F- Geoff Liska
D- Mark Bolding
D- Keith Maurice
G- Randy Heavey

wow Dave Dragone! He was my goalie at North Country when we won the national championship. Great goalie. I wonder what he is doing now. Any idea if he played pro after Potsdam?

EDIT: Looked at stats, only 2 years at Potsdam? I see 3 games in ECHL and then nothing

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

Wait a minute Ballgame! You played at NCCC? You guys broke my heart during my last year at Canton. Dave and I shared a few laughs when we both ended up at P'dam. Well he did most of the laughing.

Yes sir, I was on that team. #19 defense. And Jeff Cary was on that team too right? I remember talked smack to him about the NCCC/Canton rivalry.
I have that last NCCC/ Canton game on VHS somewhere. Was in the ’32 rink right?
North stars > Kangaroos
Can’t believe NCCC folded.

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

Manu was a defenseman?! wow...don't remember that. He had some crazy point years didn't he?

Re: Your school's All-Time Team

When he was at Johnson and Wales he was a forward and had over 50 points at least one year, I think as a sophomore. He was a defenseman while at Curry and had a couple of more really good seasons there.

I saw him play when he was at J&W and he was the only player that looked like he belonged on the same rink with Oswego as they got dominated 8-0 at Romney.
