Yale Hockey 2010

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

"For why it was not a ridiculous question, check out the latest news on Backman reported on USCHO by myself, as well as by Chip Malafronte of the NHR, Adam Wodon of CHN, and RJ Rico of the YDN.

The quote in your own article from Yale was that no disciplinary action was going to be taken. I see Coach Allain's logic. There are no barriers for Backman returning to be with the team, since disciplinary action was taken.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

I feel bad for both Sean and Yale, but suspect that the effects from this incident will have a much greater effect on Sean than they will on the team.

See you at The Whale tonight!

Go Yale!

You have the timeline wrong. When Coach held his press conference, the statement from Yale had not been released so it was not known yet whether disciplinary action was taken. The question was trying to find out if it had and the probing and investigating by myself and other members of the media is what led the statement to be released. Obviously if we had known there was no discipline, the question would have been superfluous.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

“They’re a hell of a good team. They’re the best team in our league, and I think they are legit, legit national championship — and not just Final Four — but national championship-caliber type of team. They’re very very impressive, they’ve done a great job there. They’re coached extremely well and they’re a tough, tough team. For us, we’re going to go in and leave it on the ice, and do the best we can.”

With goaltending, I would no doubt completely agree with this assessment. However, and I imagine that the Yale contingent will second this, this Yale team is only very, very good with the current goaltending situation. With a better backstop (not that Blase has been horrible, but merely mediocre), I would safely say they would be playing April 10th.

Good luck this weekend, hopefully we'll be seeing you in Albany if we can get past our nemesis Colgate.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

On my way for Modern Pizza then a Yale playoff game, doesn't get much better than that.

GO ELIS!!!

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

No such thing as a quick pizza on Wooster St. I really like BAR. Zuppardis in West Haven is excellent as well.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Modern>Sally's>Pepe's. Bar is up there, depending on the pie.

Just me.

There should be a separate thread on rating the best pizza joints in New Haven.

The best burger hands down is Louie's Lunch! That place is greatness

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Forgive me if I hope you have a long ride back to Providence on Saturday night. This should be more fun than the Providence Bears against the New Haven Nighthawks.

It was, indeed, a lot of fun. Don't worry about the ride back to Providence Saturday night. It's not that long.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

No Mustard Allowed! Greatness indeed. love those old vertical burners, too....

No ketchup at Louie's. Just a burger, cheez whiz and tomato on toast. They also claim it's the first place to put a hamburger between two pieces of bread. Overrated. And fascist.:D

Re: Yale Hockey 2010

Sounds like we had a pretty poor game. Let's hope we can pull it together and get 2 solid games the next two days.
