Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

I understand Cahill sat last night as a precaution because Yale knew that a complaint had been filed, but I also understand he was cleared today . . . so dressed tonight and had a beautiful goal. And Root's injury was pretty clearly a concussion. McCollum hit him in the head, he was down for a bit and then tried to get up but couldnt - just that he was too woozy. Scary to see. I thought we came out slow tonight - average first period - but turned it up in the second and should have been up by more than a goal after 2. Little had at least 5 Grade A chances and he rarely misses these. Overall good effort. Harvard took some really silly penalties at bad times.

Re: Yale Hockey 2010-2011 thread

Some info about Cahill's travels in France and his return to the team this year.

"While Cahill may have put his Ivy League degree on hold for a year, he was not doing so with his hockey career. He spent much of last winter playing for Les Phenix of Reims, a club team that participates at the Division I level, the second-highest, in the French Hockey Federation.

Cahill certainly regained his scoring touch there as he netted 13 goals and added as many helpers in 18 games over a four month stretch from October to February. He was fifth on the team and in the top 20 percent of the league in scoring despite playing less than three-quarters of the regular season and departing the team before the playoffs, in which 4th-place Reims bowed out in the semifinals to the eventual champions."

BTW the Sacred Heart "skated circles" around Yales lone loss, Air Force this weekend. :D
I still have to get over to the Milford Ice Pavilion for a game, I cannot believe that they play D-1 hockey in that barn.

It's true--the Sacred Heart club team plays at Wonderland, which is way nicer than MIP.

Brown------------------------------------Brown, anyone going, should be some hard hitting games, the 7-3 win at the last meeting will be tough to duplicate, Brown seems to have improved since the beginning of the season. i unfortunately have other commitments. Good luck Blue.

Also nice article in the NYT about Allain and the team.

Going to miss the home game Saturday. Might take a drive down to Providence on Sunday though; if I can ditch the wife and kids at the Schubert Mamma Mia show.

No problem. Funny how those guys just can't come to grips with Yale being #1.

Let's hope Yale takes care of Brown this weekend and pull for Minnesota to take at least one of their games @ ND this weekend.

We'll be at both games...any excuse to go to Providence is a good one.

Brown went on a tear after the last meeting with Yale. Let's hope Yale's recent regular season dominance keeps the bears off-kilter. But you got to figure things will be pretty wild this weekend.

What do the UMN/UND games have to do with the Yale/Brown games?
Is UND getting too close to the coveted #1 ranking that Yale is holding in Jan? ;)

Minnesota is a tougher opponent than 95% of Yale's schedule, and I wouldn't be surprised if they took a game from UND this weekend.
They have more draft picks and talent than most teams in the nation, they just have been playing crappy for 2-3 seasons now.

I saw ND voted themselves #1 this week. So a loss or two to Minnesota this weekend should ground them back into reality. Of course, Yale needs to do their job and wipe that smirck off of Whittit's face this weekend.

They'll vote for BC then.

Sorry, I simply can't take Yale seriously. Im sorry Yale*. I forgot since they are cheaters that we need an asterisk now. They'll be long gone by the time April rolls around. The only question I have is who will join the Eagles and Sioux to fill out the remaining Frozen Four field.

It's only Tuesday and you're drunk already.

BC - 2nd best team in Boston.

I see the Frozen Four as Yale, ND, UMD, UNH.
