I watched the disallowed goal in slow motion and it was a very poor call on the refs part IMO, Izmirlian's skate just touches Gartieg's skate on the edge of the blue paint as the puck is entering the net.
I agree it was an iffy call, but I dont think it was the skate contact they were concerned with, it was Garteig's stick coming out of his hand right as the shot was being taken. The refs must have thought Izmirlian knocked the stick out of his hands. Goal was glove-side, but puck location doesnt really determine whether or not the goalie was interfered with.
Given the blatant slashes that Gartig was dishing out with his stick in the beginning of the game anytime a yale player was close, it's a call that is only overturned due to the location of game. That's ok with me, it's why home ice advantages exist. Gartig set a tone early, and lived up to his antagonistic ways and then some. Can't fault the goalie for that.
He was the best player on the ice for that night. I suspect entire Yale team is hoping to have another crack at QU
I think we need to be rooting for Dartmouth tonight! Much rather face them than Cornell.
Congrats to Men's basketball team for finally punching that ticket to the big dance!
I agree, Yale handled Dartmouth this year. Cornell could potentially neutral zone trap themselves to the NCAA's by winning four 1-0 games. RPI/Harvard and Clarkson/SLU will take a lot out of the winners that make it to Placid, two tough series.
Really? So we're supposed have a tractor pull with RPI and not have anything left for Lake Placid? Did you guys miss something about last season's playoffs?

Yale will welcome the Big Green of Dartmouth who beat Colgate 4-3 in double OT.
Chip Malafronte of the New Haven Register tweeted yesterday that Yale will have Doherty and Gaus returning for the playoffs and have a full lineup,
