Yale Bulldogs 2015-2016 season. Lets get offensive!

Re: Yale Bulldogs 2015-2016 season. Lets get offensive!

I watched the disallowed goal in slow motion and it was a very poor call on the refs part IMO, Izmirlian's skate just touches Gartieg's skate on the edge of the blue paint as the puck is entering the net.

I agree it was an iffy call, but I dont think it was the skate contact they were concerned with, it was Garteig's stick coming out of his hand right as the shot was being taken. The refs must have thought Izmirlian knocked the stick out of his hands. Goal was glove-side, but puck location doesnt really determine whether or not the goalie was interfered with.

Given the blatant slashes that Gartig was dishing out with his stick in the beginning of the game anytime a yale player was close, it's a call that is only overturned due to the location of game. That's ok with me, it's why home ice advantages exist. Gartig set a tone early, and lived up to his antagonistic ways and then some. Can't fault the goalie for that.

He was the best player on the ice for that night. I suspect entire Yale team is hoping to have another crack at QU

It was a battle for sure. I always love the QU/Yale games, so it would be great to see another match-up with another trophy on the line. I suspect John Hayden especially would like another crack at Garteig.

7 All-Ivy and more

http://www.yalebulldogs.com/sports/m-hockey/2015-16/releases/20160302wn5dz3

The Bulldogs earned a share of the Ancient Eight title this winter and were rewarded with a school-record seven All-Ivy League selections, the rookie of the year and the coach of the year.

Three Yalies were first-team selections and two of them were repeats from last season, including senior defenseman Rob O'Gara and junior goalie Alex Lyon. O'Gara is enjoying another standout campaign after earning All-America accolades last winter. Lyon, who joined O'Gara with the national honors, currently leads the nation in goals against and save percentage. Both are Hobey Baker Memorial Award candidates for a No. 8 ranked squad that hosts an ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal Playoff Series on March 11-13.

I think we need to be rooting for Dartmouth tonight! Much rather face them than Cornell.

Congrats to Men's basketball team for finally punching that ticket to the big dance!

I agree, Yale handled Dartmouth this year. Cornell could potentially neutral zone trap themselves to the NCAA's by winning four 1-0 games. RPI/Harvard and Clarkson/SLU will take a lot out of the winners that make it to Placid, two tough series.

Really? So we're supposed have a tractor pull with RPI and not have anything left for Lake Placid? Did you guys miss something about last season's playoffs?

Great year last year. I still don't remember your team going any farther than Yale when it counted. You should be more worried about HVD becoming a bubble team next weekend . RPI is playing well right now and plays a physical style which is not a great match up for HVD.

Yale will welcome the Big Green of Dartmouth who beat Colgate 4-3 in double OT.

Yale moves up to #7 in the PWR after an idle weekend thanks to Ohio State sweeping Michigan. Need a few more wins to lock in that two seed!

Sophomore forward Ryan Hitchcock has missed nine games to injuries since returning from the World Junior Championships in Finland, including the Quinnipiac game on Feb. 28. Freshman forward Andrew Gaus hasn’t played since the Desert Hockey Classic championship game on Jan. 10.

Both will be back in the lineup this weekend.
