Yale Bulldogs 2015-2016 season. Lets get offensive!

Re: Yale Bulldogs 2015-2016 season. Lets get offensive!

How did Yale manage to lose to Princeton earlier this season? They should almost be able to beat them with an empty net.

A completely different team since that loss to Princeton. They were also back to rolling 4 lines tonight, which will be needed Saturday and going forward. Nice to see Izmirlian contributing again right away, Henry Hart also scored his first career goal. Stu wilson has been on fire and his tip off the post for his own rebound goal was a thing of beauty. Standing room for me at the bank saturday, must arrive early for a good spot.

Have fun. I'll have the best seat in my living room.
O'Gara and Wilson both playing like 1st team AA's now. And 4 lines means more of the forecheck we're used to seeing.

Yale looking like a solid 2 seed for both ECAC's & NCAA's. They are certainly a different team now & looking more & more like a Frozen Four team.

Have fun at the Bank tomorrow. The PWR looks about right now & points toward the top 7 teams being pretty much equal & then everybody else. I still thin ECAC gets short end of the stick. Id put SLU & Clarkson up against mid level WCHA, B1G teams any day of the week. At this point Yale & Michigan are a coin flip in my book - Yale could be 6 based on better schedule. And in reality I see them in top 5. NoDak is the suspect team of the top 7 IMHO & St Cloud probably 4th. QU, BC deserve to be 1,2. PC 3. St Cloud 4. NoDak 5. Yale, Michigan 6,7. Only reason Yale not higher is because they didn't do much out of conference as QU did.

But this is turning into a GREAT team. Talent. Heart. Motivation. Goalie. The works. Whatever happens, happens. But I have LOVED watching this team. It's been a most enjoyable winter thus far. BDBDBWW...

Will be an interesting game tonight with very little on line. Yale won (share of) Ivy League title last night with their win and QU wrapped up ECAC. The fans are likely to be more fired up in many ways than the players. Not sure how much one will be able to read into the result as both these teams as poised to have real post season runs. I suspect (hope) that tonight isn't the last time they face each other this year.
See you in the rail tonight.

Actually, Yale will have a lot of incentive to win tonight. Revenge for the 3-0 loss to QU being one item, but the most important will be a huge bump in the PWR with a win tonight.Although they have a 95% shot at the NCAA's as it stands, they would cement NCAA status with a win tonight. As we have seen in the past, we can't rely on the first round of the ECAC's for automatic wins. They also need to keep the progression going, and beating QU is that next step.

Re: Yale Bulldogs 2015-2016 season. Lets get offensive!

I've seen most of the ECAC teams and some Hockey East teams this year, of all I have been most impressed with Yale and Providence especialy for team speed. Have to go with Lyon as the best tender.

Hit on Izmirlian last night leads to suspension. ALBANY, N.Y. -- ECAC Hockey (@ecachockeyMWD1) today announced that Princeton junior defenseman Tommy Davis has been assessed a one-game suspension, in accordance with the League’s supplemental discipline process, as the result of his actions in the Princeton vs. Yale contest Friday, February 26.

The League action was taken after review of an incident that occurred in the second period in the Tigers-Bulldogs contest.

Based upon the League’s action, Mr. Davis is not eligible to compete in Princeton’s next contest - Saturday, February 27 when the Tigers face Brown.

Gonna be matched by Doherty's. A well deserved 5. Went up high. Q a little bit better tonight. Izmirliam - 2nd line was sharp. Hayden gonna have nightmares. Garteig sharper than Lyon. A little defensive confusion at times around Lyon. But otherwise about what you'd expect from 2 rivals playing at a championship level.

Re: Keith Allain on USCHO Live tonight

It was a very good game tonight gentlemen. Both teams played extremely hard and wanted to win very badly. Despite the 4-1 score it was a close game until the end. The War For Whitney Avenue rivalry gets better with every game! Good luck in the ECAC Hockey playoffs and in the NCAA Tournament.

I was at the game and did not hear a reason for the goal being disallowed in the first. Anyone know why?

According to the video stream, goalie interference. Apparently the Yale player in front caused Garteig to lose his stick before the shot, so they disallowed it. It was, at best, a debatable call.

VERY borderline. I was surprised they even looked at it.

For those who would like to torture themselves here is the full video of the QU game. http://www.quinnipiacbobcats.com/watch/?Archive=177 I watched the disallowed goal in slow motion and it was a very poor call on the refs part IMO, Izmirlian's skate just touches Gartieg's skate on the edge of the blue paint as the puck is entering the net. The contact was incidental and did not affect the goalies chance to save the shot. Also rewatched Doherty's hit on Shiplo and the five minute penalty was deserved, left his feet and had his hands up.
