World Soccer XXXI: Golden Generation?

IMHO, I don't see this resulting in a significant change in ticket demand or viewership. Just a slight increase in the odds to win the game- which then continues the faux money flow. Whereas a close PK increases the odds of a win a lot more.
My brother in Seattle was keeping a close eye on the ticket prices. When the suspension was called off, ticket prices doubled.

I'm gonna post this and then check out for a few days.

That game summed up everything wrong about this generation of USMNT players: Mentally weak, physically weak, and just plain SOFT. Pulisic being invisible until going off injured. Dest turning the ball over constantly. McKennie having no impact. A defense and goalie that makes costly mistakes. The talent is there. The ability is there. The execution is not there.

There really isn't a big fix that can be done and will be talked about for weeks. It really just comes down to mentality and execution. I'm not even sure coaching can fix that because it felt like Poch got the best out of them that he could (at least for the tournament overall). I don't really know what the path forward is beyond just letting the system keep working and hope there is growth mentally.

They got away from what got them there in the first place which was playing with pace, confidence and assertiveness and instead played scared not to lose.

That was a team that looked distracted. Granted, Belgium was the best team they faced, but looking that out of sync in Game 5 means something’s wrong.
