Some complaint about the faux sp coverage- post match they tried to talk to the 3 people who were remote, and Henry is a pretty quiet speaker. For some reason, the director thought it would be fun to pipe in the crowd noise post game, even though it was just basically white noise going on. And I could not hear ANYTHING Henry said. Which sucked, as I was interested in his thoughts.

Even Zlatan was hard to understand the background sound was so loud.

Totally unneeded noise post game, especially when they went back to the analysts at the stadium and let the crowd go wild behind them.

Some of us are still trying to learn, faux- and you spent some money getting Thierry and Zlatan to talk. Let them talk, even if it's boring.

Honest question, has the US ever benefited from a major controversial call/no call in the World Cup?

Between the handball on the line no call against Germany in Korea, the phantom call on the would be GWG against Slovenia in South Africa, and now this red card, there's at least 3 major, game defining calls against us.

In a vacuum, it’s a red card. Studs to the back of the ankle/achilles, sure. There’s a quibble with Balogun being off balance but, generally, at the professional level there’s a lot of responsibility towards the player for their actions.

The problem lies in the fact that it was a VAR intervention and how horribly inconsistent it is compared to the standard set for intervention all tournament.

Missed handball in the penalty area against Mexico in 2002 is about all I can think of. The Aussies had a bitch about a couple things in that game but nobody else really did.

By my understanding at this point after watching it and reading about it here and other places. By the letter of the law, yes. BUT, other similar scenarios have not gotten red cards so there is some discretion. Many people believe discretion should have been used in this case but it's America so.............no dice.

Folarin Balogun was easily my favorite player on the US team. Having him have to sit out the most important US Men's Soccer game ever is............&^%^**&&.

The larger issue is that Claus never had control of this game. When refs lose control of games it's dangerous.
