Ah yes... Let's require all "pro" soccer venues to look like a Marlin's game...
That’s the standard specifically for a Division 1 team. The USL in the process of creating a D1 league as part of the promotion/relegation process.Ah yes... Let's require all "pro" soccer venues to look like a Marlin's game...
NRA-mar Pulisic ain't doing any Dump dances now...The world rejoices
Oh boy....as big of a difference as there is between Men's #1 and Men's #48 (and really, significantly lower than that) , that is NOTHING compared to the gap between women's #1 and #48. If they're going to 48, it should at least come with mercy rule.US will host the 2031 Women's World Cup. It will also feature an expanded 48-team field to match the men's.
Yeah, we’re already looking at the real possibility of blowouts in 2026 with the men.Oh boy....as big of a difference as there is between Men's #1 and Men's #48 (and really, significantly lower than that) , that is NOTHING compared to the gap between women's #1 and #48. Yeah, can’t say I understand it. I guess it gets money to nations that wouldn’t get anything, but it’s diluting the amount the usual teams get.Oh boy....as big of a difference as there is between Men's #1 and Men's #48 (and really, significantly lower than that) , that is NOTHING compared to the gap between women's #1 and #48. Oh - I didn't even think about that....48 teams with GD used in any tiebreaker is the exact opposite of a mercy rule. The group stage is going to be horrifying.Yeah, we’re already looking at the real possibility of blowouts in 2026 with the men.
I mean, look at some of the scores in Women’s qualifying. Spain had a +53 goal difference in their qualifying group, England had +80!
Yeah there’s a reason why every Confederation besides UEFA uses a tournament for WWC qualifiers (well two, money is another). It’s to reduce the amount of awful blowouts there would be.Yeah, can’t say I understand it. North America is really two deep with a couple countries that can be competitive parking the bus. Asia has about four or five and then a significant drop off. CONMEBOL is Brazil and some up and coming teams. Really Europe is the only deep confederation, but their qualification is spread so far that as jim said, it’ll just be them winning 10-0 and essentially auto qualifying.
Think about how bad that US-Thailand game in 2019 was. Now imagine one of those in every group.Oh - I didn't even think about that....48 teams with GD used in any tiebreaker is the exact opposite of a mercy rule. The group stage is going to be horrifying.
