Shakira halftime show.Something is up with this halftime show. It’s been constant ads for 10 min on Univision.
Never forget that Gerard Pique cheated on this woman.

Be interesting if FIFA raises a stink over the extended halftime. FIFA and IFAB have been pretty adamant over the years about halftime being a maximum of 15 minutes, even denying a German proposal to extend it to 20 minutes to increase beer sales.I knew that was going to happen, but the delay to get it started was really long. Like this will end up being 30 min instead of the extended 25 min.

You should see it when some rogue MLS supporter group sets off a flare, they inevitably get the hammer brought down on them, and then they start *ing about how the league is “too corporate” and “not authentic”. It authenticity requires open flames in crowded groups of people, maybe being fake isn’t so bad.Looking at the aftermath here, how does soccer ever catch on here?
Like, seriously, the crowd last night was barbaric and animalistic. People are commenting about how people acted the way they did cause there were NOT police in full riot gear present infront of and inside the stadium. If that is what f?tbol is expected to be here in the States, no thanks.
And yes, I know "that's how it is elsewhere". Sometimes people need to evolve. This is where we are at with this.
Point being, with the Big Four Leagues + NCAA Football, you have absolutely zero incidents of this nature in the past 25 years. But somehow this is expected to just be "Par for the course" here?
I get CONEMBOL being cheap here with security. So where is the line then? Are we just a place to be exploited by others in the soccer world?
Or better yet, what happens when a US fan decides that they need to bring their pew pew if this is how things are gonna go down? All you need is that fan outside the stadium when this stuff happens and you have a MAJOR incident.
In a word, yes. To Europe and South America we’re nothing but a piggy bank to be exploited for their own gain. The irony is this whole situation happened at the stadium owned by the guy suing FIFA and US Soccer to enable more of this crap.I get CONEMBOL being cheap here with security. So where is the line then? Are we just a place to be exploited by others in the soccer world?
You went to two club exhibition games, the functional equivalent of those Hockeyville games the NHL does in preseason. Completely different from a continental championship final.Actually, how often is this kind of thing seen at non soccer events? Why is it pretty much only soccer games?
Funny, too- been to the Big House for two international soccer friendlies- and it was just like going to a football game- just less happening.

It happens mostly at soccer games because that’s really the only sporting event that draws crowds around the world. There are other sports that can draw big crowds in some places sure, India and cricket for example, but soccer’s popularity absolutely dwarfs any other sport.
Interestly, the most non-soccer related crowd crushes have happened during the Hajj in Mecca.
Oh I agree. I think it's ridiculous.Well, to be fair, I've also been to a very full Wembley to see a NZ-Wales rugby match. And two F1 races in Europe. Which had a lot more people than any football match that happens on the continent. One of them even had Ferrari win on home soil- the celebration was wild, but very peaceful.
But, still, popularity should not be a measure of how bad the fans behave.
