Hilarious sequence of events in the second half of Seattle v Portland:

Portland gets PK
Valeri takes PK but is saved by Frei
VAR shows encroachment by Seattle, orders retake
Valeri takes PK again, hits post, scores rebound
Referee (correctly) gives free kick for Seattle and disallows goal because Valeri touched the ball twice
Seattle gets PK
Seattle scores
Portland GK goes down injured minutes later

So, in a span of 5-6 minutes, Portland went from having a PK and possibly a 1-0 lead to down 0-1 and out of subs.

Cincinnati signs former USMNT defender and noted Trump supporter (and close friend of Pulisic) Geoff Cameron.

Personal favorite replies on Twitter:
”Are you guys going to create a Parler account so Geoff can share the news?”

”Does he come with a tiki torch?”

College Cup finals are set. Both are Monday.

Women’s is Florida State v Santa Clara. A little surprise with Santa Clara beating UNC but not a huge one.

Men’s is Indiana looking for their 9th title versus…

Marshall, in their second tournament appearance ever.

A friend of mine is a coach at Clemson, who were the #1 seed in the tournament (men's side). The Tigers got beat by Marshall in PKs a few rounds prior, and he said that Marshall was the best team they played all season. He also said their family section was the most obnoxious bunch of hillbillies he's ever seen. So, should be an entertaining game/environment.

Yeah, I read that Marshall has been upsetting teams in every round.

I saw that mass of fans running in the stands on their goal while watching on TV. I got the “a bunch hillbillies” vibe from that alone.

Hah. Yeah, I haven't seen them play at all this season until the tournament, but apparently the coaches haven't been terribly surprised from their run. My buddy coaches the goalies at Clemson, and he had a ton of great things to say about Marshall's keeper. My guess is if Marshall wins it, their keeper will need to make some key saves.

Seattle subs on a kid who just turned 16. Born in 2005.

I have posts on this board older than that kid.

Not that I have any clue on how MLS rosters work, but how does this Inter Miami DP story happen in the first place? Shouldn’t that be something that is determined at the time of signing and can be blocked if need be?

Story for reference

Sounds like aspects of players' contracts were either not reported or under reported to the league. I have no idea why they weren't blocked either but it might have something to do with FIFA and the International Transfer Certificate stuff.

The $2 million fine is really nothing but the $2.2 million salary cap hit/lost allocation money is huge.

Whichever producer assembled this panel for CBS needs a raise. Dempsey, Onyewu, and Davies have been good TV.

That said, playing Honduras is always a terrible watch.
