Asia really needs to get their s- together regarding their competitions. They do qualifying for the Asian Cup but it’s part of their World Cup Qualifying so there’s not many games. Plus the Asian Cup is 24 teams out of 47 total AFC teams, not exactly competitive.

They really need some form of Nations League setup to get their top teams playing each other more often.
 
That was an incredible sequence by japan's GK (Gonda?). Just brilliant. Give him the golden glove.

I've had sequences like that, you could run through a wall after the play is over. You're at like a 14. I'm thrilled for him right now, even if I'm rooting for Germany in this reunion.
 
Japan won't get a better opportunity than that

Well, the Asian Cup was last held in January 2019. In that time there’s been a Euro, two Copa Americas, two Gold Cups, two AFCONs, two UEFA Nations League and the CONCACAF Nations League.

On top of that, Saudi Arabia is essentially playing at home.

I can't remember the last time I saw a GK enter the OTHER team's net during play.

(FTR, he also had probably one of the closer opportunities to score on that play!)
 
So, I didn't have the time to watch the group release coverage or the build-up this year, but I just noticed the Group E teams. What a fucking buzzsaw. Germany could be in a world of trouble COULD.
