Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

Lagos/Magee. Many memories. I played against Gerard Lagos (never Manny Lagos nor Amos Magee) in youth soccer until 10th grade when I made the switch to football, but those 3 made headlines back in the day.

I do like that the Loons have hired folks with local ties as front office staff.

The Sounders have a few former players from the USL days as front office staff and it's worked out well.

Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

This Toronto-Montreal game is insane. 3-2 Toronto, 5-5 on the aggregate. Potentially heading to Extra Time...

And Seattle is probably going to ruin things by playing this thing called "defense".

It'll be interesting to see the Toronto attack actually having to face a real defense.

The final score will be the game time temperature in Fahrenheit (12 degrees = 1 - 2 Seattle).

Finally reading up more on the sex abuse scandal in England.

As if anyone needed more reasons to hate Chelsea: there's hush money. Actual hush money.

Forecast says the high should be right around 0 C, closer to -5 C around game time.

Everyone is hyping up Toronto and the Giovinco, Bradley, Altidore combo, completely forgetting about Seattle's midfield. I know it's a foreign concept in American/Canadian soccer but, having an actual #10 and an actual #6 is pretty useful.

-5C = 23F. Final 3-2 Seattle

Re: World Soccer XXVII: The REAL Football

enjoy the win but it seems pretty sad that a team can win a championship in game where they had ZERO shots on goal...

That was probably one of the worst games I've ever seen. I was waaaaaaay too right when I said Seattle would ruin things by playing defense.
