Exactly. Think Sweden will be celebrating when they pop in #14 on Thailand? Yeah, me too.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

When the USMNT takes the pitch on Tuesday it will be 616 days since it played a competitive match.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

The weirdest thing at the Gold Cup will be the lack of VAR. This will likely be the last major tournament without it.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

And again, I don't have a problem with it. It's the World Cup. I would, of course, wished they had celebrated a bit less, but I also would rather have them celebrate like they did as opposed to not celebrate at all.

I also think you're discounting goal differential. The US has lost to Sweden in 2 of the last 4 major tournaments (2011 World Cup and 2016 Olympics), and drew with them at the 2015 World Cup. The winner of the group could very well come down to goal differential. As a result, it is actually quite different than celebrating a sack or dunk in garbage time. Those goals could be the difference between winning the group and finishing second.

Even more important after looking at the knockout round match-ups is that the Group F winner plays the runner-up of Group B, which will most likely be Spain or China. Meanwhile, the runner-up has to play the runner-up of Group E, which will be the Canada or the Netherlands. Not that China or Spain are easy match-ups, but I'd much rather play them than the two in Group E.

Is this including games that counted when they weren't competitive?

Sorry. It was just hanging there.

They did?

At least the Dream Team was humble. Just listen to Magic at the start of this highlight package.

Or Charles Barkley's elbow as the US team demolishes Angola.

But yes, let's talk about how unbecoming it is when the ladies do it.

This is a bad post and you should feel bad.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

Chile has a goal taken off the board because the scorer was about a mile offside.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

The US with seven of the 11 starters from Tuesday on the bench.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

3-0 at halftime. Lloyd with a brace giving her 10 World Cup goals. She has scored in a record six consecutive World Cup games.

The next goal will tie Norway's 1995 first round record of 17 goals.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

Jessica McDonald makes her World Cup debut, subbing in for Julie Ertz at halftime.

Re: World Soccer XXIX: Pro/Rel USA! just kidding!

Every player on the roster (except the backup goalkeeper) has seen playing time in the first two games.
