Re: World Soccer XXIV: The Road to Rio
Yeah, plenty of money floating around Detroit for that.
The Twin Cities don't have a wealth of 14-20K seat stadiums around either. I guess they could use the TCF Bank stadium but that's 35K soon to go up as they add seats for the Vikings stay.
I'm just not seeing either of those two being viable options.
Anybody else see this??
MLS announces plans to go to 24 teams by 2020.
Would love to see Detroit get one of the new franchises. Wouldn't be all that big of a deal for them to partner up with say Wayne State to redo their football stadium to build it up into a nice 20,000+ stadium. Then again, I could just as easily see em having the stadium up in Oakland County somewhere, perhaps at the Silverdome if they ever get that remodeling project that's been kicked around for that done.
The Twin Cities would also be on my short list of places to have a franchise.
