Marquez is down for Mexico.

I'll be so brokenhearted if he has to miss games for the Bull S@#$! err... I mean Red Bulls. :D

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

This ref is buying every dive from Mexico...

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

No. The other player never touched it.

Live, I agree it looked like he did. But he never touched it so the goal was good.

Don't they still have the rule that a player in the offside position can't be involved in the play? Considering the goalie was preparing for him to shoot, I think that qualifies.

That said, the USA is lucky this is still just 2-2...Mexico has hit a post and pushed one just wide.

We can score but our defense sucks. And the ref won't let our mids anywhere near them.

Can't believe Martino wants Adu out when he's been our best player.

I would like to see Spector come in for Bornstein. I know that only leaves one sub, but Bornstein can't keep up.

By no means am I the biggest fan, but I try to follow pretty closely when it comes to big games. We are known for good goalkeepers, but to go along with that, I would have expected a quality defense. Yet every time I watch one of these big games, I come away baffled by how bad our defense is. It's one thing to shutout Jamaica/Panama, but what gives? Simply a lack of talent? Or is there something tactically that's a problem? These eyes say unless we can develop our defenders, we won't take that next step.

Our best and most consistent d-man Steve Cherundolo is now out of the match with an injury. That's not helping.

Bornstein again! Ugh.

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

We're gonna lose. Now it's just by how much...

I certainly understand that, but even so, this defense is disastrous...

Hard to believe the USA was up 2-0...

Also, you guys would know better than me...

Any possible disciplinary action for that kick to head on Adu?

The Mexican player thought his head was the ball...they're both round...

Agreed. But Mexico's strikers aren't exactly chopped liver either. They have one of the better groups in the world.

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

Dempsey meets post.

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

He gives Landon a yellow but that gets nothing? Very consistent.

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

****. Adu and then Dempsey...two quality looks. why couldn't Dempsey's strike been a foot lower...

Re: World Soccer XX: I paid Jack Warner $1M for the right to start this thread

Jones has sucked this game.
