Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

Last US sub. That will just about do it.

And it is! 1-1!

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

Despite the fact that the USA goal was a complete fluke, 1-1 is a fair score. Pretty even match between the two all things considered.

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

I'll take that draw.

Howard is my pick for Man of the Match, Cherundolo is a close second.

agreed. its possible that howard makes things look easier than they are but while england had more chances, it seemed the usa's few chances were much more dangerous (altidore off the post, donovan missing the net in the first half)

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

So, what are we hoping for tomorrow morning? A draw?

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

Agreed. Toss Onyewu into the mix, too.
Onyewu got caught out on the England goal, but he did ok. Cherundolo caused England to sub early and was a defensive force all game.. Howard is still The Beast he is.

I'm happy that Onyewu made it through the match without a card... he's a great physical presence... but he has to be a great physical presence. So, presumably he has cards to take in the other two matches now... assuming cards are cleared for the knockout rounds.

Re: World Soccer XIII: Through the Group Stages

Well done fellas, great result. Impressed: Howard, Cherundolo, Bradley .Not so much: Clark, Donovan (for him)

I think so... Though maybe an Algeria win? They are considered the worst team in the group, and if Slovenia come into the US game with no points, they should be less inclined to play for a draw.
