Thats the problem though. Had the Thunder been better supported they could of moved up to MLS instead of being disbanded.
I really enjoyed going to Striker and Kicks games back in the good old days of indoor soccer.
It is inside.Phoenix... sorry, BG, but baseball in the heat isn't the same as soccer in the heat.

Couldn't they simply play in the Cardinals stadium during the summer?

Gotta be St. Louis if there's a good ownership group there.
To me, that's what makes St. Louis head and shoulders above all the other options, including a second NYC team.
If a team can play outdoors in Houston, it could do so in Phoenix. And of course if the D-backs play a whole summer of baseball in Phoenix, then MLS certainly could also. I think a deal with the D-backs to use their retractable dome stadium makes more sense than Glendale. You play inside the dome, you don't worry about hot weather. Certainly summer weather is something that has to be dealt with, but it certainly could be.
I'm pretty sure the Houston comparison was to adding a team in the southeast: Birmingham, Atlanta, Florida...not to Phoenix. I have not heard Phoenix mentioned as a possibility according MLSHouston and Phoenix's climates are so incredibly different.
Not only is Houston usually at LEAST 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix, the humidity makes athletics significantly different.
Now neither place is comfortable, but Phoenix averages over 100 for three months while Houston averages 93. That's a large difference.

No, not really.Although, my dream is still to have the Rhinos in MLS. If we can win the Open Cup, we deserve a shot.
No, not really.
Having an MLS team in my backyard would be nice. I live in the Hinterlands of Upstate New York. I should get a bone thrown to me every now and again.
Recent successes (Seattle, Toronto, and proven USL attendance successes in Montreal and Portland) show a shift towards urban audiences away from suburban soccer mom and team kinds of audiences.
