World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

Scotland 0 - Netherlands 1. Pretty much ensures that the second place team in Group 9 definitely will not move on, whoever it is.

Norway 2 - Macedonia 1. Norway moves into second on GD, but see above, probably won't matter.

I know that it's futile, but I still love that Norway got to second place.

I had been thinking that Scotland would prevent them from advancing, not two draws against Iceland and one against Macedonia.

Wow, that was longer than I thought, sorry guys. That's what boredom in class will do to you.

The Dutch took a page from their porn and took a giant dump on that entire group.

As far as Norway is concerned, they still have a shot. It's a long one, but you are forgetting that for the 2nd spot, the games against the 6th place team in the group don't count. Otherwise, the teams in group 9 would have been at a huge disadvantage.

Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

Group Two

Alive for second: Switzerland, Greece, Latvia, Israel

Assuming we can ignore the Swiss, Greece and Latvia have a two point edge on Israel. Israel hosts Moldova, which while not guaranteed, lets assume Israel will win. A winner in the Greek/Latvian match would give either team the edge over Israel as Greece hosts Luxembourg in the final match, and Latvia hosts Moldova. If Israel wins and Greece and Latvia tie, all three would be tied going into the final match but Israel would have by far the hardest matchup (@ Switzerland, although they may dial it down having qualified in the event of a Greek/Latvian tie).
It's worth noting that after beating up on Luxembourg today, Israel have a GD edge on both Greece and Latvia, and would be in second place heading to the final match day if they were to beat Moldova and Greece and Latvia were to tie. They'd still have to go to Switzerland, of course, but it wouldn't be a bad spot to be in. I think they really want that home loss to Latvia back, though.

Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

I was about to say the same thing. Nice touch from the folks in T&T.

Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

I would say its a 90% lock. Only that low because its on the road and its US soccer.

That other 10% is the draw they could end up with. They won't actually lose the match.
You forgot two things. Our defense sucks. And Bob Bradley is a horrible manager.

Re: World Soccer X: Duh, duh, duh, duh...The Champions!

Thank God for the crossbar.

And Bob Bradley is a terrible manager. How are we being run ragged by T+T.

Or just read Blockski's link, and then I don't have to list them from memory. :D
