I picked Spain to lose the final, and why change now? 2-0 to the Oranje, with Kuyt getting the first early in the second half against the run of play and Sneijder getting the second late against a desperate Spanish team pushing forward.

Holy crap, I like de Jong, but he totally should have walked for that.

I had to listen to the first 20 minutes of the match on the radio, JP and Tommy are absolutely awful to listen to. Very much a TV duo.

Oh, dear ****ing Christ. No wonder people riot and burn cities watching this. A guy gets kicked in the chest and no red card, but then 2 minutes after a guy goes down while the ref has his back halfway turned, he hands out a red card.

Does Vlade Divac coach Spain?

amongst others during this match... same for the lack of calls against Spain.

edit: I'm surprised the Dutch have kept their composure.

Except, of course, that the Dutch free kick that went just wide right before that after hitting off the Spanish wall was called a goal kick instead of a corner - and the ensuing goal kick began the sequence that led to the goal. Iniesta might have been onside but he shouldn't have been in a position to be doing anything there.

I don't care. I wanted Spain to win. I've dealt with a Dutch company over the years and they threw me under the bus. I'm happy today.

Too bad that game sucked compared to others in the tourney. Seemed to me Spain was a diving machine. No doubt the Dutch deserved most of their fouls or cards but if I had to watch those guys lay on the ground in agony and then jump right into the play all the time I'd never watch soccer.
