Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

Interesting how Amherst has 11 of 15 first place votes yet RIT is first over all with only 1 first place vote. Just show's how leaving Amherst off a couple polls effects the combined poll results.

One thing to keep in mind is that GAC just had 2 games that were too close for comfort with Bethel (comparable to Castleton?). An ok 4-1 win on friday but 2-0 on sat. One of which was only an empty netter.

Poll for 11-22-2010

Dear Lady Falcons Fan,

I respectfully disagree with your statement that the Friday game was "to close for comfort". Although I did not see either game when one team out shots the other 44 to 5 and the saves are 40 to 4 I believe not enough credit is being given to the Bethel goal tender Jess Newstrom. It is very diffecult for a team to win when they don't get any or many shots on goal as happened to Bethel on Friday and during the first and third periods on Saturday. Thats pretty darn good defense by GAC.

Very much looking forward to the UW River Falls/Gustavus game in a couple weeks. See you there.

that was kind of exactly my point... i didn't know the SOG, but now that i do my point is reenforced that much more. 44 SOG with 4 in to 5 SOG with 1 in. it would seem that Bethel was putting up more quality shots and quantity. but a mass quantity of SOG is something that GAC is known for especially around the MIAC and NCHA. most people would think that with the difference in SOG the score should have been more like 6-0 or 7-1. that's what i meant by "to close for comfort" i do tip my hat to Jess Newstrom for an outstanding game.

and yes, all of RF's fans including myself are looking forward to Dec. 10!

Game on Friday at GAC was not close unless you call 3 goals in the first 5 mins close. Game was non-eventful once it was decided 5 mins in. Sats game was closer, Bethel played better and GAC not so much. You defended your Falcons in another post about LF's hunker down around the net mentality and it is tough to get the puck thru 3 people. Welcome to GAC's world. Bethel did a nice job in their end.

Looks like a 2 horse race in the West.

Re: Women's DIII 2010-2011 Fan Opinion Poll

I thought you Westies taught us a lesson last year with Midd having all those one goal losses and ties against top ranked teams? Where is Nbound and the polling police to complain about ranking LF?

GoJ is one of them. So it's allowed
