Apparently one voter was pretty impressed by Cornell's tie with Harvard.

That's the first first place vote the Gophers haven't gotten since prior to the 2012 national championship game.

No, somebody voted for BC in the preseason this year.

Maybe some voters only look at the numbers. Cornell is the only team left with a 0 in the loss column, so they may have based it on that.

Not that I agree, still have them behind both UM and Wisco as I tend to look at results vs top teams as a key guide.

- Cornell has only faced two current top 10 teams, no 5/6 Harvard and no 7/8/9 Quinipiac, and both games resulted in ties.
- Cornell has faced three current top 10 teams, Harvard, Quinipiac and Clarkson all in the 5-9 slots, earning two ties and one win.
- UM has a 3-1 record against other teams in the top 4 and if you count UMD that record is 5-1 vs the top 10.
- Wisco has only lost to number one UM and done well against other teams in or near the top 10 (4-0 vs BU, NEU, OSU)

None of these teams have any blemishes against teams not in the top 10, something that cannot be said for most other teams in the Top 10, they are the top 3.

P.S.....Forgot about the Cornell win vs Clarkson.

Would definitely agree. I am a Cornell fan, but would not rate them as the number one team in the country. In my opinion their results to date put them solidly in the 3-4 position but would find it hard to justify anything higher than that.

Overall, Cornell's offense has been better than I would have expected to start the season, but their defensive zone and maintaining intensity level need improvement.

Re: Women's DI Rankings/Polls 2013-14

Tony, How many non-top 10 loses does it take to move BC our of the top 10? Or are they just given a top 10 spot sort of like an "auto-bid"

What in the HE sticks are you talking about. This is NOT Tony's poll, it is the USA Today/US Hockey Mag poll. Giving Credit where Credit is due. BC is not even in TTT's top ten. Tony's cosmic powers have no control over the USA poll.

Re: Women's DI Rankings/Polls 2013-14

You are under estimating TTT's powers. :)
Exactly. He's caused Minnesota to lose on at least two occasions of which I'm aware, and he likely caused the Gophers' slump in 2006-07 when they fell off the face off the Earth and BC rose to fill the vacuum. That is a program he claims to LIKE. Imagine the havoc he has unleashed on rivals like BU and UNH over the years. There should be a "shudder" smilie.

What challenge is influencing a mere poll for such a man?

I mean, to be fair, they haven't lost to a non-top-10 team in almost a month.

Big Daddy, you need to visit this thread I think.

Somebody is TTTrolling~
This was a CLEAR snub by the OED in selecting "selfie" over "TTTrolling" as Word Of The Year.
