Wisconsin Women's Hockey 2025-2026

We were at the season opener against BC a few years back but they did the banner game 2 for some reason iirc.
I bought tickets for the first game also, the minute they went on sale. The women that graduated could not all get back for the first game so they moved it to the second, so everyone would be there.

I only just now managed to find the Ohio State postgame press 'availability', and it was mercifully brief for the players and for Muzerall.

I know that Joy Dunne caught some flak for her between periods "We're the better team, and they know it" comment. But I'm OK with that, that should be her attitude.

But at the end of the press thing, Muzerall is asked "you had a number of freshmen making an impact. Is it fair to say that as you look ahead to next season, the future is bright for the Buckeyes?"

Her answer: "I think the future ARE the Buckeyes.... you can write that down."

smh ...

The video is 'embedded' in this web page.

Ah, good find re: Ohio State press conference. I never did find last year's.

Is it just me or does Amos look like a hostage in that video?

Muzzy got the "4 penalty kills" in more than once, clearly trying to imply bias. Could have easily been 8.

Played a second victim card by saying that people don't like her program because of "the" in the Ohio State University. Nah Nadine... certainly not all those who root against you. It's because of the way your program carries itself, which is a reflection of you.

I can't imagine choosing amongst programs and choosing tOSU, but obviously a bunch of girls do.

The whole "the" thing is universal to their identity. They are superior to all and just want to make sure you understand.

Also interesting that only Todd and Kedrick asked questions of the players? No Ohio St. media?

lol... yeah.

Taking academics out of it, are they good at anything other than football and more recently, women's hockey?

Hey tOSU... I promise you, no one cares.

Transfer Portal: I hope we aren't looking and are able to stand pat - but if needed, two names interest me. I like watching Isa Goettl from Bemidji - she's a firecracker and I love the quick smaller athletes. (reminds me of Nick Licari from 2006 men's team) and Greta Brezenski - much like Tim mentioned, I like a Wisconsin girl - a utility player ala Zilisch to cheer for. From her Clarkson page it claims she was recruited by Wisconsin orginally.

Nobody likes OSU because of her.
She’s a narcissistic dictator and the whole image of a streetwalker that she portrays walking across the ice is just absurdly ridiculous.

Yeah, nothing at all against the players, full respect to them. But Muzeral is just too much. The "we are the future" is delivered with smugness and condescension. What does somebody whose lost three of four have to be smug and condescending about?

Goettl = Alexis Mauermann 2.0. That small package could snipe and she was fearless along the boards. Goettl will draw interest from every wcha team less one of course.

Very interesting Brezanski was recruited by UW.

Amos was a hostage. No player from a losing team is wanting to be in a presser. I'd do away with that all together and only have the coach from the losing team get grilled.

Clearly she thinks she was shafted on the end of the game review and that they were whistled too many times for penalties. The make-up call after the F bomb tirade was ridiculous.

I joke about her coaching in the pwhl, but it would never work because she'd burn out with the players with the high intensity persona. It's interesting that you hear MJ called a players coach and usually I dislike those types of coaches, but clearly he has the perfect balance of "his way" and "player way" and the players love playing for him. I still want to know what class he was happy to see finish up.

I posted on the transfer portal thread that Rylee Bartz the leading scorer at St. Thomas with 17 goals has entered the portal. No idea if UW is interested but she will certainly garner a lot of attention from WCHA schools. She is from Fargo but played at Warroad HS and will be a senior next year. Scored 2 goals against the Badgers this year.

Coach J said that the coaching staff worked the day after the championship game because the transfer portal opened. Whether they are interested in a particular player is another issue, but we know they're paying attention and not just writing it off.

There was zero surprise when that holding call on Ava Murphy happened. Those refs were feeling a need to even the PPs out.

I'm convinced that call doesn't get made under different circumstances.

UW and Ohio have a pretty full roster, generally and at forward particularly. But I could see the Gophers picking up Goettl.

Yes, pound for pound, Mauermann was as good in the corners as anyone. The saying for linemen in football is "low man wins". Mauermann started out with a low man advantage.. LOL

Pretty sure Isa spent her first year at Minnesota before heading to Bemidji - are you thinking she'll head back?

Edit: Redshirted at MN?
